The Tattoo of Endurance has been changed to grant a percentage reduction to physical damage to all friendly Minions, similar to how the RBF grants reduction to magical damage. The ToE also grants Steel Skin equal to 1/10 the tattoo lvl to its wearer only (no aura).
Thus, the ToE no longer grants any protection vs AMF, but the RBF now does.
ToE damage reduction is shown in the post-battle stats.
How much reduction to AMF backlash does the RBF have?

as much as it does vs DD

interesting change. :P
So currently, the only thing that has "Endurance" in the game is the Jig?

Also: removed endurance from JKF; increased his other stats to compensate.

Does TOE still protect against GA damage? If not, what can?

no

AC
If the GA returned Damage is Physical, why doesn't the ToE reduce it? And if the return is Magical, why doesn't the RBF?
GA seems to have got some indirect massive buffing this changemonth.

GA damage type is GA, not physical or magic.

Maybe this description should be changed then. Train>Ability Descriptions
"Guardian Angel
Training Cost: 840
GA retaliates with a percentage of all damage inflicted on its targets by opposing Minions. GA damage is reduced by AC; GA damage type is the same as that for which GA is retaliating. GA has reduced effect when its level is low relative to the damage done."
"The ToE also grants Steel Skin equal to 1/10 the tattoo lvl to its wearer only (no aura). "
Seems rather useless.
Cube
September 7 2008 5:57 AM EDT
Also, so there is no longer a level where the ToE can be broken through?
Cube
September 7 2008 6:38 AM EDT
Also, any chance that GA is changing since it's level needs to be trained relative to the damage done? (which was reduced over all by 1/3rd this morning)
"GA has reduced effect when its level is low relative to the damage done. GA level should be about 2.5 times the damage done to get full 60% retaliation."
If GA is now GA type damage, does full AC or only enchancement AC reduce it?
Cube
September 7 2008 6:47 AM EDT
Full AC has always worked on it, I'm pretty sure.
why does the ToE give SS without aura? a ToE minion cannot use cloak or body armor, that's a huge chunk of AC gone. (no AC/SC)
double post: I think ToE is now a wall/heavy tank equipment, thus an indirect nerf to adam curass and shadow cloak.
So Toe does not reduce DD damage anymore?
Youch! The JKF endurance change has lost me two opponents off my fight list!
GA Damage is ectoplasm, Nothing stops ectoplasm, =P (Just saw the "No Internet" episode of Southpark last night, haha)

my tank can do more than 50k damage vs ToE teams now, I love it.

At least I'm not losing to 2 mil MPR endurance teams anymore. But I do feel bad for anyone that relied on this tattoo, as its become practically useless now...
RBF protects against magical damage now, but without aura, correct? So physical damage gets halved, and damage reduction against DD is stripped away?
So is "Endurance" now non-existant again? I notice there was no mention of a change in how much endurance is granted, but rather just that it gives a percentage reduction.
Is there no longer any cap? What determines what percentage reduction is granted (level relative to damage done relative to...?)
I know that a lot of times people work these things out themselves and put them in the wiki, but personally I feel like I don't understand what has happened enough to set up any sort of experiment.
say goodbye to the only form of constant damage reduction in the game...
personally I kind of like how things are turning out, the stale or win mentality is dead!

"similar to how the RBF grants reduction to magical damage."
it is said :" TOE grant % reduction to all minions" . So is that means "similarly, RBF grants DD reduction to ALL minions" as well?
"my tank can do more than 50k damage vs ToE teams now, I love it."
Just a shame the Physical damage reduction makes you now do 50K versus non ToE teams as well. ;)
does ToE prevents a bigger % of melee damage than RBF prevents magic? I am getting almost 0.50 from my 3.6m ToE. if ToE and RBF have the same curve, something is broken.
with the ToE toned down the way it is can we get a slight tweak to GA?
Jon, what reduces GA type damage? Is it Full AC, Enchantment AC, anything else?

"I am getting almost 0.50 from my 3.6m ToE"
with my 5.8mil named TOE i was having 0.505 endurance. If this is true then what's the point of having high level TOE? Any extra benefit?

It seems the percent increase gets more and more minor as you get higher up, mine is 3 mil levels, and it gave me .45 Endurance. Percent reductions kind of seem to clash with the idea of tattoos... Well RoBF it is then.

September 9 2008 3:10 PM EDT
definitely the case.. I'm getting .515 from my 6.5mil named ToE..

September 9 2008 3:58 PM EDT
If 3.5mil tattoo can almost reach the cap of 0.5 endurance then it is obviously not a long term strategy for TOE.
The difference between a 3.5mil Familiars in HP and damage is far less powerful than 6.5mil Familiars.
Directly or indirectly destroy TOE? You draw your own conclusion.
seems like a quick fix if you ask me, but quite frankly, ToE is the least of our problems here, and don't forget the SS boost which I think was a very nice addition.
But it's also noting, that once you start increasing reduction beyond 50% you see the damage drop much faster as the tattoo grows. Also, I think it's flawed logic to abandon the ToE because your tattoo level is "too high" it can still really help a team and if you are still complaining, use that RoE of yours.

"and don't forget the SS boost which I think was a very nice addition. "
Sorry I have no idea where you get this "useful" thing from. It is so obviously crappy.
and if you think level a tattoo to addition of 2 mil in level to earn 0.05 Endurance worth it, then i want some of that smoke too.
so the logic is if adding 2 million only adds a small amount of reduction, then the other 50% damage reduction is worthless?
A Tattoo of Endurance lvl 1,092,881
Endurance: 0.41
I'm not so worried that my tattoo is small any more. The SS is meh. At 1/10 level, I'm gonna need a massive ToE just to match my current HP. Bleh.
Junction Familiar with AoF FTW!
I think the idea is that at lower MPR, you are preventing 40% of 2k damage, while at LA's MPR, you are preventing 50% of 2m damage.
At least I won't have to insta my tattoo, or care about it's growth.

But why get a large ToE in the first place then PK? Wouldn't you be better off just leaving it at 1 mil levels.
Do the VB/ES reduce the Physical Damage Reduction of a ToE any more?
If they do, shouldn't there be a DD that reduces either the reduction of the RBF or MGS?
Ignoring EO and Armour, Physical can get two percentage reductions in ToE and SoC, Magical can get two in the RBF and MGS. Both work out to be quite close in potential reductions.
Physical: 50% and 16% for a total of 58% reduction
Magical: 30% and 39% for a total of 59% reduction
Both using the largest values in game.
Yet for Physical there exists two weapons that can penetrate this reduction. And Magic has nothing of the like in return.
Conversly, if the VB/ES don't effect 'Endurance' any more, they've received a slight nerf, as all the reduce now is AC (which took a hit last change month if you don't train SS).
SG is the mages VB GL ^_^ I have seen close to the same damage with either a +40 mgs put on or off. And as fas as I notice... I am still getting hit with most spells for the same damage as the rest of my team or more on my Robf using minion.
SG is the Anti AC, like the VB/ES.
But if the VB/ES still reduce the new 'Endurance', then Magic has nothing similair, while facing the same potential damage reduction.

If you can work an RoBF MgS into your strat, then you should be allowed to use it. All you could really train on it would be HP, ST, Dex, and a tank's going to be pretty small without a TSA or ToA.

Looking at this it seems the ToE got the Super Nerf.
Why do you not make SS an aura.
You could alway grant a it equal to a lower percentage since it would affect all your minions and give it back a little buff.
The point has been made that a tat wearer has little armor on.
This could be the balance for RBF dealing damage.
ToE Physical reduction is an Aura. RBF Magic reduction isn't.
