UC question. / clarification (in General)

Is UC as reliant on ST and DX like any other weapon? Will upgrading UC alone do as much damage without the aid of st/dx is my question. What does the UC stats mean? ie. Unarmed Combat: 164,573/43,994 (42) .

The popular consensus seems to say that you will have the likeness of a [pth x 42](+42) weapon. (with pth unknown, but which recently went up) So I think ST and DX are of the same importance.

Please sink my argument. It must be flawed... ;)

I always thought "pth" means "points/percents to hit", in other words, the "plus" on the weapon... no ?

But yeah, there was some truth up there - UC simply places a "virtual (1H?) melee weapon" in your hand, base damage unknown, with stats [XYZxEffect]+(Effect*SomeRecentBoost).

So yeah, upgrading UC (combat GI or UC gloves) will increase damage and chance to hit / number of attacks directly, without need for extra ST/DX.

You still NEED Str/dex though. It's just like anyother weapon. UC is an exp grown weapon, think of it more like a bio sword arm that you can sink XP into to improve. Actually, yah, and then find someone to draw it, cuz it sounds cool. It's green, thick and pulsing with life, and after you kill something, you can stab it's corpse and suck in the xp to make the sword better.

That's WAY off topic. But you get the idea. You still need str/dex to USE your UC. It's not like old kung-fu movies where the old frail guy whoops the most butt.

Also, from what I understand when Jon said he upped the "pth" he meant "Plus to hit" although the first time I read it I readed it as "Penalty to hit" being an old D&D buff.

<LumpBot> Unarmed combat skill. Initial training cost 91exp. The higher the level, the more effective you are in melee when not using a melee weapon. A UC effect of 100 is equivalent to x100 +100, with a currently unknown base damage. Equipping shields and headgear give a penalty to UC. UC confers a bonus of 1/3 of their without-items-affected UC level to evasion.
