DM change (in General)

I've modified DM so it will fizzle any enchantment that casts under its base level. No more negative VA, but the DM guys have a 2k point head start.

OK, I just want to see if I understand this. The new DM compares DM level to the targets enchantment level. If the DM level is higher, it fizzles the enchantment, but if the DM level is lower, then enchantment is in full effect? What happens if the two tie? Also, can we have this in Changelog?

If the enchantment isn't fizzled, it's not in "full effect" but in reduced effect. It reduces the effectiveness of the enchantments.

One thing I've noticed about DM is that it will also fizzle Enchant Offense spells you cast, so you can't use DM along with AMF or EC :(

Jon only means that minions now don't have the negative effects of a spell cast below base level, as is the case in CB1.

If you were to train a base VA in CB1 and equip a Double Chain Mail for example, the resulting spell would be below the initial level of 2000. This results in a negative effect of your VA spell (instead of gaining life, it took life). Without this new DM change, a minion under the influence of a DM'ed VA would show the same effect (losing massive amounts of HP in melee rounds). With this change, nothing bad (or good) happens.

Maybe it also shows a difference for other spells, but only with VA the difference can be huge...

OK, that makes better sense than what I was thinking. Thank you for the explanation.
