Ok, Jon It's been said multiple times, and made very clear, ToJ does not summon, if the person holding the Toj is dead from previous battle...
Scenerio...
Battle 1. 3/4 minions die, the ToJ holder died.
Battle 2. The Toj doens't summon because minion is dead, so 4th dies fast...
BUT...
This just happened.
1st battle, killed enchanter?
2ed battle, killed everything but the Familiar
3rd battle, killed only familiar?
Here is the third battle:
Play-by-play
Hades The Steveh
Rona cast Dispel Magic on all enemy Minions (2614)
Rona cast Ablative Shield on all friendly Minions (13731)
Rona found no valid targets on which to cast Antimagic Field
Ranged Combat
Rona missed The Stevehs Mage's familiar
Rona's Magic missile hit The Stevehs Mage's familiar [4337]
Rona missed The Stevehs Mage's familiar
Rona's Magic missile hit The Stevehs Mage's familiar [5595]
Rona missed The Stevehs Mage's familiar
Melee Combat
Rona's familiar's blow was dodged by The Stevehs Mage's familiar
Rona's Magic missile hit The Stevehs Mage's familiar [7145]
Rona swung wildly at The Stevehs Mage's familiar
The Stevehs Mage's familiar pounded Rona [3989]
The Stevehs Mage's familiar pounded Rona [4935]
Rona's familiar swung wildly at The Stevehs Mage's familiar
Rona's Magic missile hit The Stevehs Mage's familiar [8029]
The Stevehs Mage's familiar pounded Rona [4743]
The Stevehs Mage's familiar pulverized Rona [4385]
R.I.P. Rona R.I.P. The Stevehs Mage's familiar
You can tell by the R.I.P that the familiar was the only 'minion' participating in battle.
How is this possible If the Toj holder died the battle before?
Question: If the familiar survives from being summoned in the 2ed battle, but everyone else dies, does he carry over to the third?
I was under the impresson: No.
I think that was changed a while ago to stop people looking like they could be fought (no asterisk), but when you click on they, they are comatose, because only the familiar was left after the first fight, but couldn't be summoned for the next.
I'm pretty sure they were changed to come into fights with the hp they had from the last fight.
Then isn't that still wrong, considering the toj holder died?

Where did you get the idea that a familiar cannot survive without it's owner? There's nothing to suggest that that is the case in CB.
salt3d,
He's referring to starting a battle where the only living thing in the opponents team is a familiar. The familiar can survive an existing battle if all other minions die, but it is understood that a battle cannot be initiated against a character if the only the familiar is alive (due to recent battle killing all minions).
All that's being asked here is if the above situation is a bug, or we are mistaken about not being able to initiate a battle when only the familiar is alive.

You're mistaken. This was changed some time ago to prevent the situation where you lose battle 1 (potentially losing clan points) but you kill everyone but the familiar. If the familiar can't come back w/o the other minions, you don't get a chance to redeem yourself by winning battle 2.
Thanks for clearing it up, good change imo.
