Admins help! (in Public Record)

SaintMichael February 2 2005 12:39 PM EST

I sent a LToA to my mentee reptileabc for an hour, but accidentally transfered permanantly. He doesn't have chat enabled and isn't respond to 2 chatmail, I need an Admins help.

[HaveToLook]Buffet February 2 2005 12:52 PM EST

Using your mentees to level your tattoo.. what has this world(game) come to. This might help. not really. but good luck

AdminG Beee February 2 2005 1:01 PM EST

I'm sorry -)SM(-StMichael but you really don't want an admins help on this as the policy is pretty clear on what our involvement would be. On top of that, it doesn't appear as if your mentee actually scammed you out of the item. Talk to your mentee and sort it out between yourselves, hopefully he will do the right thing and return your LToA quickly.

This was my input the last time I was involved in something similar.

SaintMichael February 2 2005 1:06 PM EST

Well he doesn't have chat enabled, he won't respond to my chatmails. Can you recall the sent item?

SaintMichael February 2 2005 1:08 PM EST

Please interveine I really need this item, it was a simple mistake

As is clearly displayed when you enter this forum, the admins are not in the property recovery business. It is far more likely, if you press this issue, that they will reset the offender instead of returning your property.

CooperTX February 2 2005 1:15 PM EST

I have noticed that in virtually all cases, 'mistakes' are considered your fault and that you are responsible for the problems that ensue. Your best bet is to continue to try to contact the person and note that an admin will likely reset him if your item is not returned. To continue to beg for help from an admin in another way will likely have a result you won't like.

AdminG Beee February 2 2005 1:16 PM EST

If I'm not mistaken you only loaned it less than 1 hour ago.

I'm sorry, I'm not interested in getting involved in this for the time being. Hopefully your mentee will do the right thing and return it to you.

CooperTX February 2 2005 1:18 PM EST

Dude the guy hasn't even been on since noon, check the last login time before blowing a gasket.

AdminG Beee February 2 2005 1:29 PM EST

Thanks for your input Cooper (irrelevant as it was) however no gasket was blown and if you look properly you will see:

-)SM(-StMichael (-=HighValor=-) 24.180.147.92 reptileabc (Ubdester) A Lesser Tattoo of Augmentation ($7946) 12:24 PM EST

When the recipient was on has nothing to do with it.

StMichael screwed up and wants me to bend the rules to fix his mistake... it's not gonna happen.

CooperTX February 2 2005 1:31 PM EST

I meant that towards Michael not you G Beee sorry about that confusion, I should have specified.

[EG] Almuric February 2 2005 1:42 PM EST

There is absolutely no reason to reset the new guy. He hasn't done anything wrong. I would like to point that out, not that I think any of the admins would be hasty in their judgement.

Not that this is necessarily relevant, but in the US, if someone sends you something in the mail that you didn't ask them to send, you are under no obligation to pay anything or return the item. It's the sender's fault for sending you something they shouldn't have.

The only reason that I bring this up is that leveling up other people's tattoos should be something you get paid for. It's much more beneficial to the owner of the tattoo than it is to the lendee. In my opinion, humble that it is, having your mentee do this for you is akin to exploitation - i.e. taking advantage of someone's ignorance.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

In CB (yeah that's CB1 for you n00bs), Tournaments and Camping were the root of all evil. Looks like Tattoos and Camping will be the root of all evil in CB-Lite (aka CB for Dummies, aka CB2)! :p

SaintMichael February 3 2005 10:28 PM EST

Its been over one day since I sent 3 chatmails askingh him to send it back he's logged on twice since then, I'm ask for legal Admin help.

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] February 3 2005 10:49 PM EST

StMichael, even if the admins decide that this warrants their intervention, all that will happen is that they will reset the player. This will result in your LToA being lost to you for good.

To be blunt, this mistake is yours, not reptileabc's. You transferred it instead of loaning it. There is no basis for any kind of punishment to be handed to reptileabc. It has been pointed out to you where the policy says that admins will not return property, and this point has been reinforced by several players with links to previous examples of how scamming is handled.

My recommendation is that you continue attempting to contact your mentee. If you cannot recover your tattoo, then just chalk it up to a learning experience regarding making sure you loan instead of transfer. LToA's are not that hard to come by, and the last few that have been sold on FS/WTB went for about 50k-100k. You're LToA is less than 6k levels, which can be replaced fairly quickly. In my opinion, you're trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Max February 3 2005 10:59 PM EST

Sorry, I won't track down your LToA. You need to be careful when sending your stuff. If I do it for you then I would have to do it for everyone.

SaintMichael February 3 2005 11:10 PM EST

okay, thanks Max ^_^

AdminQBVerifex February 3 2005 11:17 PM EST

Man, StMichael, I already told you the admins would say this, why did you even make this post? There is a policy.
