Question on weapon upgrading (in General)

QBRanger February 9 2005 5:54 PM EST

Hi all.

I likely know this has been discussed ad nauseum on cb1, but I'm new to cb1 and 2.

Is it better to upgrade the x or the + on a weapon? Im sure the x delivers more damage, but not completely sure on what the + does. Does it make it easier to hit? Does it let you get an extra hit in? Both?

Any suggestions on which is best to upgrade at certain levels?

Thanks for your time.

You did read Help->Weapons ?

Thanks for you in depth and detailed response.

But I have heard that if you have over a +100 youll get an extra attack. Is that true? Also, you did not address one of my questions. That is, which is better to upgrade and why?

Thanks again for your time.

It depends on what you want, in the end it is better to upgrade both. The '+' helps you hit people easier. 100 is a guaranteed hit.

"But I have heard that if you have over a +100 youll get an extra attack. Is that true?"

Read Help->Weapons and use your math skills to fill the gap. "Each plus-to-hit is one extra percentage point in your Minion's chance of hitting his antagonist." Usually 100 times 1% equals a chance of 100%.

"Also, you did not address one of my questions. That is, which is better to upgrade and why?"

That completely depends on the weapon, your strategy and other factors. Experiment with rentals to see how an already upgraded weapon works for you. Inspect their NW and the NW of auctioned items to see how much various upgrades do cost.

On a minion with high dex it would be better to invest in the "x" more than the "+" however on a low dex minion investing in the "+" would be more important than the "x". Therefore a tank in a four minion team would probably benefit more from a high "+" weapon whereas a single tank would benefit more from a high "x" weapon.
