So, this is your second "Grand Opening" in 3 days?

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] February 22 2005 9:50 AM EST

Hang on a moment, I just realized. Don't you already have the "Piggy Bank" bank? What happened to your first bank?

Arorrr February 22 2005 12:42 PM EST

Um, why would anyone deposit their money into your bank if your bank is not FDIC insure. Your disclaimer said it all: you can lose your deposit if someone else default (banned).

SaintMichael February 22 2005 1:26 PM EST

1st.Yes this is the second opening, because I believe someone on the other post ruined my post traffic with a pretty stupid accusation.
2nd.The Piggy Bank disbanded we sent out chatmails to all the supporters.
3rd.Depositing is wise because, I wouldn't loan your money out either, if I deem the loan too much for the loanie to pay off, or They've been constantly kicked/killed. We will do research into the loanie

Also our rates are generally lower than the CB2_Loan office. So check us out and donate some cash for your own finances sake.
one of our other costumers made 65k in two weeks!

SaintMichael February 22 2005 1:43 PM EST

deifeln has sent a 400,000 donation towards his supportership, which entitles him to a 11% interest fees -thank you.

Supporters: deifeln $400000 -- CB^2 deposit

(ps: please do not post with anymore questins, chatmail me -thanks)

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] February 22 2005 2:54 PM EST

"Yes this is the second opening, because I believe someone on the other post ruined my post traffic with a pretty stupid accusation."

Actually, I didn't consider his accusation to be "stupid", as you put it. He questioned your integrity as a player, and while I won't restart that argument now, I believe that he had strong grounds for issuing his accusation. Someone who is asking others to entrust their money to him has to demonstrate strong integrity. I, on the other hand, have questions about your capability of running an enterprise such as this, especially with a failed bank in your past, and the incident regarding your ToA where you repeatedly ignored people pointing towards the policy regarding such acts. On top of that, you are asking people to entrust their money to you while claiming no responsibility for that money. If you take in 3 deposits of 1 million CB2$, and a person gets banned who owes you 500k CB2$, then who(s) money loses what amount?

On top of that, I find it very questionable that you are asking that questions be asked in a non-public format. What are you trying to hide?

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] February 22 2005 2:56 PM EST

*boggle* You don't even have your characters in an economic clan! Why are you forgoing the potential profit (or decreased fees for customers) of an economic clan? Who are your loan officers, how do I know someone claiming to be part of your bank is actually affiliated with you?

SaintMichael February 22 2005 3:19 PM EST

These aren't really practical questins, I'd like it if you'd stop flooding my post with inaine, idiotic babble.

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] February 22 2005 3:28 PM EST

OK, I'll attempt to simplify it for you.

1. Why should I trust someone who has a failed bank in their past, has attempted to convince admins to go against public policy to your advantage, has posted that they have a "family member" playing for the explicit purpose of losing to you so you gain free exp/money/score, and who likes to call any question that you do not want or are incapable of answering stupid?

2. Why should I trust you with my money when you disclaim no responsibility for it in the event of a ban immediately after stating that you will seek player bans for defaulted loans?

3. Who loses what percent of their deposit in the event of a player ban?

4. How do I verify who your bank representatives or the people you appoint to make loans are?

5. Why are you not using an economic clan to decrease your fees, which would result in you either making more profit for your depositors, or lowering your fees to customers?

If you will review my previous posts, you will notice that these cover the questions that I have posed to you, and they are all directly applicable and "practical" in regards to whether or not someone should deposit with you, and also whether or not a loan should be requested from you. If you feel otherwise, please tell me which question is "inaine, idiotic babble", and why it is so.

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] February 22 2005 3:43 PM EST

I would recommend:
1. Become a supporter of the game
2. Recruit some people that are interested in working with you
3. Develop a business strategy
4. Create an economic clan
5. Create a bank charter.
6. Have a grand opening.

SaintMichael February 22 2005 11:07 PM EST

zda777 took a 400,000 loan at 5% interest expected to be paid off within 5 days.
please confirm tomorrow

deifeln March 3 2005 1:01 PM EST

It had been ten day and I have not received any interest.

"Every week Supporters will receive the % of the interest that you have earned."

It also appears that your first borrower is quitting CB2 and selling all of his stuff for USD.

I have three questions.

1. Will I really be getting weekly interest of 11% or is this just a scam?
2. Will I really be seeing my deposit back in four days as promised or is this just a scam?
3. Why was I dumb (drunk) enough to fall for this scam?

deifeln March 3 2005 1:18 PM EST

*has

also...what should I do about this?

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] March 3 2005 1:20 PM EST

Well, you didn't lose much in question number 1. The way that he has this worded:

Loan amount: 400,000
Interest: 20,000
Your share of interest: 2,200

So, if this falls through, you've only lost 2,200 worth of interest. I'd be more concerned about the state of your deposit.

deifeln March 3 2005 1:22 PM EST

I would gladly just take my deposit back...I have CMed StMichael a few times to see how things were going...he didn't respond to my last one.

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] March 3 2005 1:23 PM EST

"also...what should I do about this?"

Well, I'm assuming that you've also CMed StMichael about this. First, give him a chance to respond. He might be able to return your deposit, you never know. I'd try to work it out with him, perhaps he can pay you off for it. If you want, you can try and get an admin involved. All that they will do, if they decide this warrants such action, is reset and/or ban StMichael. It would be in your best interest to try and work something out with StMichael.

Arorrr March 3 2005 3:37 PM EST

[quote] zda777 took a 400,000 loan at 5% interest expected to be paid off within 5 days. [\quote]

I don't see zda777 paid back the loan+interest within 5 days (or even 10 days now). I would guess the loanee defaulted, which mean you lose your deposit.

Never loan your money to someone who loan your money to someone else without even confirm the loan. 8^)

BrandonLP March 3 2005 3:53 PM EST

I would like to invest 3 mil promptly!

Xenko March 3 2005 4:04 PM EST

If you look at the terms, it says:

"We do not refund money if the loanie was banned while paying off the loan."

It says nothing about the loanee defaulting. Thus, in theory, all the money should be repaid out of StMichael's pocket to any investor should they request their deposit back.

BrandonLP March 3 2005 4:07 PM EST

And I mean that 3 mil to be in USD!

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] March 3 2005 4:08 PM EST

This is true, Kultur, but the only method of enforcing this is to get admins involved. As is stated in the Public Record forum, admins are "not in the property recovery business. Same goes for loan installment payments." and I would assume for bank deposits. Admin involvement would only result in (if the admins think it appropriate) a reset and/or ban of StMichael. Which means deifeln is still out his 400k. Really, at this point his best bet is to try and work something out with StMichael.

BrandonLP March 3 2005 4:15 PM EST

*cough cough* Bubo told you so *cough cough*

Xenko March 3 2005 4:55 PM EST

Bubo, I was actually replying to Arorrr's post about the loanee defaulting. Since there is no disclaimer that if a loanee defaults then StMichael doesn't have to repay a deposit, then StMichael is contractually obligated to repay the deposit (or suffer the admin consequences if it comes to that).

I am in perfect agreement with you that the only way deifeln will get any money back is by striking an agreement with StMichael. Any admin involvement, as you said, would only result in StMichael being banned and no money being returned. I have had issues with StMichael in the past *cough*piggy bank*cough* and it sucks.

Arorrr March 3 2005 5:06 PM EST

Well, admin can ban the loanie for defaulting if CB2^Bank asking for it. As the loanie gets ban, CB2^Bank does not have to refund. 8^)

deifeln March 3 2005 6:00 PM EST

Wouldn't the admin just reset the loanee...this is different than banning so I think I would still get my deposit back.

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] March 3 2005 6:08 PM EST

If a player is reset, they lose all goods. If they are banned, they cannot get into their account to move goods. Either way, the goods are lost.

deifeln March 3 2005 6:10 PM EST

Yes, but StMichael's disclaimer states "We do not refund money if the loanie was banned while paying off the loan. " It does not say anything about loanie being reset.

Easily the most fascinating thread here, on many levels!

Xenko March 3 2005 8:33 PM EST

I meant to say reset in my post, not banned... but same difference in the end. Either way, if admins are called in, no one gets nothin and depositor is still out 400k.

BrandonLP March 3 2005 8:39 PM EST

Nothing says this game has to be fair, unfortunately. Much like this game, the same things can happen to you in real life. I'd write it off as a loss, wince, and move forward.

Arorrr March 3 2005 9:25 PM EST

I think he has a HoD on him. Not sure if it's rent or not. Worth to reset the loanie though. If it turns out a scam (between the banker and loanie), both can be reset/ban too.

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] March 3 2005 11:11 PM EST

This is an example of how not to run a bank, how to get banned or reset, and how to lose all trustworthiness. More importantly, it demonstrates that it's not so easy running a reputable, successful business, even in a game situation.

You can trust CB2BANK and its associates.

NotSuitablForChildren [Yeeeaahh.................] March 8 2005 2:29 PM EST

Notice StMicheal has not responded to this and he is now quitting. Obvious that he has no intention of settling this. I think that for this he should be reset, in case he decides to try to come back once things blow over.

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] March 8 2005 2:58 PM EST

As much as I dislike how he has handled himself, I feel that I must point out that he has stated in his quitting post that he is giving his items to "friends and debts". Let's see if he actually honors this debt before calling for a reset.
