I'm not happy with the way mentorship is handled, anyone agree with me (in General)

I mean the only prerequisite currently is being a certain PR? (in chat people say 20K pr)

and then you can become a mentor without even knowing how to mentor newbies yourself!.

as an example:

is a mentor but in my opinion he doesn't know enough to be a good mentor. he know some basics but there are more problems with him:

1: he gets/got kicked and killed a lot because he was/is annoying and wasn't/isn't listening the way he should do.

2: him being the person to not listen too good and to disregard some very helpful tips i gave him to improve, will this help him in giving good advice to mentees?

3: i think there should be some test that a mentor has to fill in with a score of at least 80% before the player becomes a Mentor.

a way how to (possibly) do it: make a series of multiple choice questions about the basic things in CB2 like:

what to train on a tank (HP DX and ST)
why isnt my minion using its weapon (possibly DD spell equipped)

and so on for some 25-30 questions

and about the scoring just count the right answered questions and if it isnt sufficient, "FAILED" and being impossible to take the course for another 2 weeks (could be same implemented (i think) as now the bot checks being 1 hour timeout for fighting/ba replenishing, so that it affects the application for mentorship)

i have no idea how hard it would be to code the things but i think i can come up with pretty good questions and answers (3 or 4 choice answers) and with the help of a few people (fellow mentors) i think that test won't be a problem to make hard enough for the decent mentors to pass and for the mentor wannabees that don't know enough (yet) to fail it.

Kind regards and i hope many people will read this

To be a mentor, you can't believe it when someone says that your familiar can knock your HoI off in battle and it respawns in the store unless you tie your HoI to your head with a rope

Oh yeah... I like your idea for a test... and maybe a possible probationary mentor status where they get helped by the other mentors just to make sure they know what they are doing?

Ok...c, c, a, b, e, c, c, uh... a b a c a b.

I hereby put in my application to be a mentor. :)

If I have to hear about the idiot incident dizzy I'm blaming you.
A test would be nice, done 3 evaluations of mentors here on cb2, had a few newbs in chat get signed up for mentorship and still ask many questions. That time has past though and now only see like 3 not so worthy mentors in the list. Point still stands that we need a test. So Max if you could throw something together on your site we'd be much appreciative.

"DizzyGuy, maybe a possible probationary mentor status where they get helped by the other mentors"

don't we all get the ability to pm and chatmail?

You're overcomplicating things.

90% of people who volunteer to mentor are fine. The remaining 10% can easily be handled by the current system: ask an admin or me to remove them if they aren't qualified.

I think a test would be a good idea of how qualified a person is for the job. Just to be willing and over a PR of 20K, is a low standard.
This is a really great game and people need help at first, not to be confused even more.
And at this point, to not enhance the gaming experience might put people off to the point of not coming back and playing anymore.
Thanks Koala

A test seems to be over-doing it.
