An observation, discuss. (in General)

Although people have all along been arguing that you should have amf OR dm, many of the top people have both, and have a good score/pr ratio.

Discuss.

One thing that needs to be kept in mind is that DM only functions at 80% of it's level. If you level both AMF and DM at the same rate, the effective level gap between AMF and DM becomes smaller and smaller. In essence, the more exp you train into AMF and DM, the more AMF can get past DM.

With that in mind, one can extrapolate that a dedicated DM minion will always be outpaced by a dedicated enchantment minion, if both grow at the same rate. Many of the people who are using dual AMF/DM strats realized this, and realized that it would be almost impossible to keep DM at a level where it completely neutralized the opponents enchantments.

When I ran a team that had both AMF and DM, I was only training DM at a fraction of my AMF. This, combined with the gap that I mentioned above, allowed for me to have a rather effective AMF while still using DM to "soften" up enchantments, rather than DMing enchantments into the ground.

interesting, especially when you consider that both of these enchantments work as a blanket. For example a DM stacked up against a 4T team powered by haste AS GS and say.. VA, would be crippled signifcantly by even a small DM. While a single tank trained only base stats and VA, would be fine. He'd lose some VA, but it would not have nearly the same impact.

so, what you are suggesting is a DM and an AMF enchanter and then you minions?

You've got it.

The point of DM on a team with AMF is to get rid of the low level defensive enchantments of your opponents, such as protection, VA, etc. In most cases it's well worth the small hit to your AMF.
