Has anyone used tirerack.com ? (in Off-topic)

I need to buy new tires for my car and stumbled upon tirerack.com (link opens a new window).

Their site has a lot of (what appears to be) solid information about tires. To top it off, I can buy tires from them, have the tires shipped to a local garage, and have them installed. All for a single price. That price appears to be cheaper than actually going to a tire store.

Has anyone here used this service to actually buy tires? If so, what was your experience like? Does this actually work?

I have not personally used it, but good friends of mine have.

Just make sure you can find a place that would install tires shipped to them and get a price for the service, including disposing of your old tires, balancing etc. before you buy from the tirerack people,.

On their site are a list of garages that they have worked with, or at least their used to be.

Very solid site and great prices.
