Sry to beat this dead horse but:
If you name a Corn does the magic bonus go from 6 to 7%.
6% with 4% bonus to it is 6.24% which should round to 7%.
Thanks.

If I name my dead horse who is presently being beaten, will he come back to life?

My guess is neither, it probably adds +4% to AC. Which on a Low AC item like Corn is worthless.

Yes, but:
DB naming adds to its evasion,
CoBF naming adds to its ability
so thats why I had to ask for a mage item like a Corn.

The difference here is that the + on a corn gives AC whereas the + on DB's gives evasion and the CoBF gives FB protection and damage. The magic bonus is just an inherent property of the item, like the dex bonus of an Elven Cloak.
Therefore, naming a corn will just award a tiny amount of extra AC.

Fair enough answer, just had to ask the question.
Thanks for the prompt reply.

You're welcome and it's a very fair question! I wish that naming really DID give an extra bonus to magice! :)
