One of my characters has a high Ethereal Chains (for my level)... 7713 (2808). I'm pretty sure when I used to cast it in battles it would cast for 2808, however recently it's been casting for under 600. It casts for under 600 on 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (tattoo) minions. It casts for under 600 whether or not they have dispel magic (which should affect it), or anti-magic field (which shouldn't).
I'm not sure about when exactly it stopped casting for it's normal amount, and I don't know if this affected it, but I recently equipped a ToJ on a *different* minion. Thanks.

First off, if they have AMF, that will weaken how much it casts for...

AMF will not effect EC, nor will DM.
I just fought Bartlett (huge EC), and it appears to be casting at its normal rate.
Like I said, it seems to be casting way low for me whether or not my opponents have dispel (which lowers it, I'm pretty sure, just like it lowers AS and such)... and AMF (which should only affect DD spells). Even when they don't have such enchantments, my EC is casting at 598. Even after I put more points into it recently. I cannot figure this out.. it's weird.

Your DM cancels out your own AMF and EC to 80% of the level it is trained. DM reduces opponent enchantment defense and your own enchantment offense. GnuUzir was right.
Right, we got it sorted out. His effective DM is dropping his EC to a little over the 1k level, which leaves an effect EC of about 600.

A possible reason why your EC casts low is that one of YOUR minions has DM.
YOUR DM affects the EC YOU cast.
The opponent's DM does nothing against it.
As you rightly said, AMF (yours or opponents) does not influence EC.
Does this explain the weirdness?

Sorry, didn't realize he had DM himself. I meant that the opponent DM will not stop EC. Glad you guys figured it out.
