I have nothing to compare not having Tattoos to, but I don't like them because they unbalance the game too much. In fact, I don't like the fact that only a few players have "rare/good" items either. I think that any item should be available to anyone at any time (base item that is). That way strategy and work put into a character, are what make the game, not items.

Yay for the most part because they add another degree of strategic complexity due to being one-per-character. I don't like the way they're so mandatory though...
