Genuine Fakes & The Like... (in General)

I was recently thinking about making rares more available to the monetarily challenged by having *cheap* rares... Or like those cheap knock-offs you get down the market, you know those 'genuine fakes'...

200k each, 10% chance theres nothing wrong with the item 10% chance it doesn't work. Rest of the time the rare 'effect' would last for a number of hours/days/weeks. A bit like the rentals system but with a bit more chance thrown in for good measure.

It could also act as a great cash-sink to prevent inflation. For every 2 mil put in only 1 rare is good, the rest are good for some time and very rarely (& unluckily) some are not good at all.

What do yall think?

not sure i get what you are trying to say.

basically you are saying CASH SINK, CASH SINK, then EVERYONE LEAVES CB

basically hes saying fakes can range in durability, and rarely a copy as durable as the real one that wont break in time

fakes would be cheaper then the original, but not likely they they would stick around as long

i think everythings fine as is, but thats the gist of what hes saying

The only problem is this would arbitrarily fix the prices of items... if for example they were 200k each and 1/10 worked forever then no one would ever pay more than 2m for the item, cause on average that's what you'd have to spend to get a working one through this method... and in the meantime you'd get 8 that had some limited durations too that you could sell to others or something, so you make out better...

Jon has always been against fixing the prices of items with things like this and i doubt he'd be in favor of it in this instance either, but those are just my thoughts on it

Its just a thought :p

Didn't think about the price fixing thing but that makes sense. I kinda liked the idea that you might have a load of trashy items that didn't work and maybe getting a good rare for cheap. I wasn't hoping on getting it implemented, just getting people's opinions...

I'm going to award you the "Oddest Suggestion" award. I dunno if it'd ever be worthwhile to add into the game, but it sure would interesting. ;p

too hard to implement,.
too random, if I remember right, I think Jon hass been moving away from random, unless he changed his position latetly.
