A Humble Plea for Strategy Help. (in General)

Gigan April 30 2005 5:41 PM EDT

I have just purchased my character "Tengu" and feel that there is surely a better strat for me to take. I would like to keep the single rear tank, but other than that I am ready to unlearn and retrain whatever is necessary (fully aware of the PR loss). I just want to get on the right track.
All that said, any tips or suggestions that you could pass along would be great. Thank you very much in advance.

I sent you a CM, let me know if it helps or you have questions.

My opinion on things to do with your character;

Since others have asked what I CM'd:

Unlearn EC, its useless with TOA tanks running about, learn AMF instead. Make sure your GA skill is about 20k at this point. Pump the rest into AMF.

Unlearn DM and use those points to up your MM.

Put all your xp on your tank to HP let the TOA raise your dex/str. Keep your archery level at 1.0 that will be 1/4 your current str. With your TOA giving you STR you will have to pump up your archery once in a while but keep it at 1.0 all the time for max effect.

Other than that, try to get some armor for your guys in front like Hard leather armor/leather boots, leather gloves, cabasset, and robes. All that do not lower your magic skill.

ALso you will need to upgrade your items, the katana and compound at least to x30 for them to be effective. I would go little on the + perhaps only +15 at most for now.

Wow, pretty comprehensive there Ranger the only thing i would suggest, in addition too not instead of, would be to figure out what you would like to do with the xp once your tanks HP catch the ToA, prot or VA would not be bad ideas or even a little more AMF tacked onto what you would already have (going by rangers advice)

Those ideas sound really solid. Thanks for the advice.

Warchild, are you suggesting that I learn prot or a 2nd AMF on my tank once the hp catches up?
