Jon killing mages? (in General)
Mages now have a total of 1 item to increase their stats, CoI, while tanks now have a bunch of items to boost st and dx, even a new helm, while one was taken away from mages, not to mention the inclusion of the mage shield and cobf blocking fb. This doesnt seem like a very well balanced change, especially when tanks like gyaxx were already dominating mages.
oh and egs lost magic as well as the corn

bout time he nerfed mages. 75% of all char are mage teams in my fightlist of 40. tanks needed the boost
and mage sheild has increased effectiveness as well, found out after i posted
Mages got last month, we got this one :) But who knows? we're only 10 days into change month
a.) if theyre in your fightlist, did they need nerfed, you can already beat them.
b.) got last month? how so?

LOL, MgS increase effective? I'll give up +10% (which is still capped at 40%) for +20ish AC any other day. You must be dreaming to think MgS didn't get nerf.
Oh and another point of interest, since the only thing to increase DD is a cloak, a mage cannot get a DD bonus and wear a tattoo.

Agreed that in my case, at least, the MgS just got significantly less appealing, assuming it still gives a penalty to UC.

I guess you pro-mage guys are pretty short sighted. You kinda forgot that Jon mentioned the upcoming link of PR and NW. And you kinda just ignored that all these item changes hint at that link. Now look at Jon's new post.
Killing mages? Don't make me laugh. More like he was making changes to get all items ready for the big PR/NW change. Soon you'll be even better off, with STILL not needing any armor and tanks being penalized for trying to keep up. Oh yes, mages are dying in droves. (/sarcasm)

what was it like 12% magic added before the new change? Now that 12% for enchantments all comes from one helmet at +6. I think this is great especially for enchanters, now for those with dd, this is really bad since mages will be forced to not wear a toe to get more damage with the Istar cloak.
nw added into pr... and since when have mages had a high nw? That will not make the tanks any easier to kill, just have to fight ones with small nw/pr while the ones with huge nw have an insane pr. And yea, they can get about the same magic percentage fairly easy, but it pales in comparison to what tanks can get now.

it gives mages a reason to also upgrade items if not for the AC.
i think its a good balancing
Mages just need one item that will give DD bonus and i'll be a happy camper again :p

I don't think ToE mages do all that badly - I'm still fighting at 150k score for 82k PR with a 44k ToE. And now I'm going Avoid style - fighting naked. My solo mage does just fine with no NW save the ToE itself.
Does everyone believe me now? mage shields and amf vs ToE are both more effective now. Definetly killing mages
and top top off the Month of the Tank, supporter item is a sword, just what i always wanted for my mage
Cuthbo is a EM team, amf/as, Fireball/toe
and he fairs very well true, i now have a bunch of spare craplike gear but Cuthbo still rocks
and now cobf is gone too, which was another way to fight tanks.
