A while ago I tested Beleg's vs Tulkas and only compared ranged damage. In ranged damage, the Beleg's did about 12% more damage. The stats are probably in the March or February archives.
But since the change, I hypothesized that Beleg's were no longer as strong as Tulka's.
And...I was right, sort of. The tests actually show that the damage is about equal per hit. But I found that in 21 trials I managed 8% more hits with Beleg's and therefore a bit more total damage.
My test compared attacks vs 7 common opponents, all lasting at least 5 rounds. I used Belegs +7 and Tulkas +10, theoretically granting an extra 0.07 archery or 10% strength.
Damage per hit was about 3% higher with the Tulka's, which when accounting for the different +bonus, is probably a wash.
The Beleg's however, scored 8% more hits and therefore 3% more overall damage, in spite of bonus difference.
Since the Tulka's bonus extends into melee rounds and also confer some damage reduction (by adding to strength), I'd say that TG's are now much better now, even for archers.
And yes, I had archery trained to 1.00 even with the strength bonus.
Data in the next post.

what what you forget is that 10% more strength won't make that much difference when you only have 30k base ST trained with a ToA on it.

Another point: you could instead train 0.93 archery, and use the Beleg's to get full 1.00
With a ToA granting extra strength, and hence more experience needed for that 0.7 archery, this could make them more convenient.
I do not understand: how comes that the Beleg's scored more hits? A statistical fluctuation?
Or do Beleg's grant more hits, even when you already have 1.00 archery to start with?
must have been luck with the ToA randomness
Belegs=the higher the archery level the greater the chance of getting 1 or more hits in the 2nd round?
Maybe that's the explanation
