How does the amount of clans get calculated? (in General)

I was browsing through clans and saw that there were more clans in the 'bonus area' today than yesterday.

i know that more characters in clans = more clans in bonuses but what is the relation between them?

ok some numbers:

currently we have 129 clans (+ or - 1, i could have miscounted going through 3 pages)

we also have 553 clan characters (with a margin of 5 because i think i got 1 clan double)


If it depends on the amount of clans in which the top clans are made into 'bonus clans' (clans receiving fight rewards) then i could make the following calculation and get to the following point:
32 / 130 = 24.6% (almost 25%)

then it would be total amount of clans / 4 = clans in bonus area which would be right for 129 clans to have 32 of them having bonuses.

and about those clans gaining a bonus:

this makes 15% / 32 clans = 0.46875%

this would be ~right and it would just have a creative way of rounding the bonuses.

so with 15 clans the clan bonuses would be 1% apart from each other and with 30 it would be .5%.
