Tanks pawn (in General)
they do! As long as you stick to a low dex strategy.
With this new ToA change.. tanks can start to think twice about training dexterity. Its an automatic +50 onto your weapon! In the past, tanks had to train dexterity to counter the ToJ's uber high dexterity. But now with the ToJ lacking the Evasion skill, and the automatic +50 granted by the ToA, Jigs should hardly be a problem.
By the ways. There is a reason the Axbow and Exbow have such high '+' enchantment costs, take advantage of it.

Maybe it's also the amount of CBd they pump into NW that mages don't worry about? Or maybe even you're not quite sure on the facts. It gives a 50% chance for an extra hit, it does not infact grant an extra hit every time against a mage.
I never claimed that ToA grants an extra hit every time against a

All I'm saying is that toa tanks can pretty much neglect dexterity, and focus on strength and hp.

"All I'm saying is that toa tanks can pretty much neglect dexterity, and focus on strength and hp."
And if you do, I'll prey on you. :D
I'd use my character 'Army of One' as an example, but because I switched over to tank not too long ago, the BL level isn't quite there yet, and thus the mediocre score.

You keep saying +50, unless I am mistaken, which is possible, it is +50% chance to hit. It is very confusing to follow, that is all.
Mags, how many 300k dexterity, ToA, UC, exbow tanks are there here on CB2? o.o

At least one. :D

I agree with chicken
ToA +50 is overkill it put DB obsolete cuz never a pair of DB will be able to take out a +50 (TOA) + the pth on a ELB/MORG is rather easy to reach +50 to have a almost constant triple hit. Also i add that 0.72 STR/DEX per level is a bit too much.A 15% endurance and 0.64 per level will be more balance.
I a not whining as i have a ToA myself i just think that would be better for the balance of the game.
rawr. Fine, I'll explain.
If a tank wanted to counter a mage, all it needs to do is focus on strength and hp. Since most mages has 20 dex, the tank only needs, say, 1,000 dex to consistently hit/doublehit the mage. But the ToJ imbalanced this by having extremely high dexterity and evasion, and UC. The ToJ forced all the tanks to train huge amounts of dexterity in order to hit.
With the ToA's +50, the ToJ's loss of its evasion skill, UC's loss of ranged evasion skill, the introduction of tattoo artist causing everybody to switch over to ToE/Toa, and the realization that tanks suck in general (before this month of course). There are few other tanks with really really high dexterity and evasion skill. (excluding Mag's silly character)

if i understand right, this is mostly about tank vs mage
and i was thinkin you could have a ET team
one minion trains AMF
one trains HP and wears a ToA
and then when you reach a point that you can outclass mage damage with tank damage you can switch the AMF minion to a T and have a 2T team that would be very formidable
and while you were movin on up, you would have an AMF that was half your team experience, and a growing ToA..

Lol, Khardin just described my team quite well
If you wanna be a mage beater, don't bother pumping dex. Leave it as given by the ToA. Put that xp into HP or AMF.
Damage is weighted heavilty in favour of the weapon stats, the Str gained bythe ToA shold be far enough.
If you want to be a tank beater as well as a mage beater, pump your Dex.
If someone wannted to, a pair of DB's could quite easily negate the +50 pth on the ToA, while Evasion could easily be trained up to +20/30.

i think it's 50% chance of hitting again which is subject to another round of evasion calculation. So if you fail 100% without TOA , you would probably just fail another 100% if your dex from TOA is much lower than enemy's.
In other words, it's NOT +50 added directly to to-hit percentage.
DB still kick your behind if your weapon sucks

Maybe i missed something above.
A lot of TOA tanks dont train str or dex anyway. They let the TOA do it for them.
:) That's the point. The minion with the highest dex in the game will be a ToA tank that's trained natural dex as well. Using dex boosting equip, bar a EC a ToA tank will get the same benefits from these items on their natural dex, plus the ToA on top.
The ToA tank that doesn't train str/dex will have a higher HP/EO/ED than the ToA tank that does, but this should be outwieghed by the dex gap.
