i dont really remember what went wrong with these, but i think they would still be useful...
i dont know about everyone else, but i dont use anything other than 8x1 +0 arrows. i dont think of anything that would make me happier, then to never run out of these.
i dont want to be able to upgrade them, i dont think the cost of buying arrows is too high even, i just hate forgetting and dying all the time. couldnt we just have arrows that are non-upgradeable, and are universal (bows and xbows/ or 2 types, one for each) stuck forever at base, but then we never run out?...even if it was just 2 arrows, so we could never get triple hits, i would still be happy :P
how would this upset game balance? would it?

Last time this was brought up, and turned down, I offered this.
Each time you fired your bow, it simply charged you the cost of a 8x1 +0 arrow eactime. Similar to the first Zelda.
Little known fact: In Zelda one, everytime you fired an arrow, it charged one Rupee. Why? Because Link used the Rupee as the arrow head. That's some sharp currency yo.

new weapon - the SoC sling of cash!
fires CB2$ at your enemies!
and after the battle, the winner has a 50% chance of "recovering" each shot that missed.
:p
that would definitely be exhaustible though... and possibly abusable? but hey, its good to dream once in a while.

FORS:
reason why is that inexhaustible ammunition is no cash sink, normal ammo is.

So would damage for the SoC be tied to the exchange rate? That would be... interesting.
shade it would be a cash sink if you charged the cost of one arrow every time it fired, or subtratcted it from your winning costs.
and speaking of ranged weapons, the sling of david needs to make a comeback...i just found explosive shot in the store yesterday, and sold it back...its not worth my time anymore. bring sling's of david back! just make em like 5x25 +50 or something. that would make it pretty mediocre but if it seeks mages then it would be great :D
