NW/PR Has this been taken into account? (in General)

Cranium Basher May 23 2005 2:08 PM EDT

Ok... I purchased 2 whips... base...
Did one cycle on each of them...

For the first cycle... I used my normal weapons... (my pr was about 21k)

For the cycle on the second whip I rented the best from each catagory, and equipped my char to boost Pr...

First: Rough progress meter: 18.866%
Second:Rough progress meter: 23.234%

I will Repeat This with 2 new whips just to make sure...
Basically, with a high nw your Pr goes Zoom... So is it possible forgers can rent Uber High (or borrow) NW items to forge, and increase their RPM?

I'm pretty sure that MPR, not PR, is what increases forging RPM. I will test by dropping my large items and forging some whips also.

There it is... The first time I did it with about 10 million nw... but these results are clear.

Sorry forgot to post PR

CB...you need to do more trials. Also, try a bigger item (one that doesn't gain several levels when you forge for one cycle).

Cranium Basher May 23 2005 2:29 PM EDT

I have nothing to forge, I just wanted to know if it's been discussed, and the 2 times I did it, was to show there *seems* to be a difference

Want to forge something for me for free? jk. :)

AdminShade May 23 2005 2:35 PM EDT

Cranium, forging efficiency is based on minion PR (trained experience) alone.

Good, Just checking :S See I'm trying to help :S

about forging and the new PR/NW link, since there are restrictions on equipping/unequiping things, shouldn't the blacksmith be able to forge unequipped items now?

(not trying to hijack, thought it was related enough)

bartjan May 24 2005 2:31 AM EDT

There is only a restriction on equipping things after being unequipped recently. So there is no (new) problem with blacksmithing unequipped items.

maulaxe May 24 2005 2:59 AM EDT

sooo... i havent tested this, but does blacksmithing something count as being "unequipped" for the duration it is away? I know they automatically re-equip, but if you unequipped and then tried to re-equip an item that was away (within the last 8 hours), will you be able to re-equip it?

AdminShade May 24 2005 3:00 AM EDT

you can't unequip an item that is in blacksmith but it is handled differently.

Cranium Basher May 24 2005 3:13 AM EDT

Are these "equipping restrictions" working? I've unequipped and reequipped many times with no problems...

I went from 300knw to 13 million nw, back to 300k in under 5 minutes...

maulaxe May 24 2005 3:48 AM EDT

if it was under 5mins, then the restrictions should not kick in.

shade-
i was assuming it was different, but wasn't sure.

also, another random NW question - (i dont have anything I want to up right now, or i would test it) where does the NW go when an item is sent off to the smithy? does it just vanish temporarily? can it still be seen in the char's NW but not the PR?
