and you thought we were done for the month! :)
- ToA dx bonus back to 60% of level
- ToA pth bonus now level-dependent; top ToA right now are in the 40-45 range; however, this bonus is not capped (grows non-linearly, if you couldn't guess)
- Evasion skill gives slightly more effect for the same amount of XP trained
- Evasion skill and related items now stack differently; instead of evasion 30 + DB 30 = 60, it now stacks the way enchantments do: in this example, the total would be 39.
- (Evasion items-only stacking is unaffected; if you have a TBF and DB 30, your total evasion is still 40)
- Evasion is no longer capped at the attacker's pth; if his pth is 50 and you have a 70 evasion, his (dx-based) chances of hitting you will now drop by 0.2.
Have to admit I like both these changes, especially the change to the DB's effecting To hit greater than the weapon plus :)

OK guess Jon doesn't like non-constructive replies on Changelogs anymore (well not sure if he ever did, but there's a "first" on all the previous changes).
I like the ToA changes, I was a bit worried about them.
I still most likely won't use Evasion, although it looks a bit more tempting.
And Jon, if you really don't like the "First!" posts (assuming you don't, as you went out of your way to delete it)...
Sorry! =)

I love the DEX reduction on the ToA.With 0.72 is was impossible to have a NON-ToA tank hit a ToA tank.
The ToA changes are great. I think its still is a bit overpowered (still 70% for STR, and the PTH will be _huge_ in 3-6 months... but thats a problem for later :-P), but its more managable now. Nice job Jon :)
Don't like the changes, but they are resonable :)

Now if we could only get evasion to 'show' for us UC people. :)

Re points 4 and 5
if you would have TBF and DB+20 it would make your evasion 30.
if you would then have 30 evasion trained would it make your total evasion 39 then? (just checking)
Items would stack into the trained evasion, as anything else I'm sure... you'd have a total item-based evasion of 30, add to the current trained evasion of 30 and the end result would be 39.. At least that's what I see in my head :-P
But that made me think of something... will the total combined evasion show under the skill? Using your example, would evasion show X+N/X (39), or just whats trained?

My head is spinning ... I'm looking forward to June when I can try to adjust to all this. But it looks very well thought out, Jon.
Each point of evasion (above your opponents pth) is worth a 1% reduction in chance to hit on dex based attacks (which is 50% anyway if dex is equal)
So, for two tanks with equal dex, if one has an Evasion 50 points over the pth of other other, he is unhittable.
A 10% difference in dex is like a 10% difference in chance to hit with dex based attacks.
Your dex is 10% larger than your opponent, you need an evasion of +40 (over your opponents pth) to be unhittable.
:)
Quick question about the Evasion granted by a Gi if you have UC trained. The item description says "grants Evasion based on pre-bonus UC".
Is this granted Evasion counted as item stacking? So will stack exactly with DBs?
If it is, does that mean that even if the Gi is the only item giving Evasion it will still stack with the natural Evasion from training UC like enchantments do?
:/
yay for ToA changes!! >.>

Scratch the "no net change" comment. Look out world, here comes Brock. >:D To all the people who talk about the viability of UC -- it's quite viable now, I assure you. The last thing it needs is more special casing like ninja stars and death fists of hyperdoom. The special casing is what caused it to be overlooked sometimes to begin with.
UC's biggest asset is the built-in evasion and the high likelihood of many hits/high to-hit. These evasion changes finally make it into something of a tank-killer, though mages roast me like good Persian food. Time for a massive redistribution of score.

Question: what and how much are the ToA bonuses now?

Maybe ToA pth and weapon pth should stack like enchantments do as well, so that its a more level playing field for evasion vs pth.
now just if I could get my +160 dbs over here from cb1....
I think the way skill and item Evasion stacks should be returned to the way it was. As it is, once you've spent you 12 odd Million to get your db's to +100 (just to counter your opponents weapon) it's not worth training the thousands of xp to get just a measly +1.
If it's 30+30=60 then you can train evasion with xp to counter ToA pth, and spend money on your DBs to counter weapon pth.

This is awesome! Thanks Jon. I was beginning to get frustrated because it seemed as though conventional tanks could never weigh up to a ToA tank.
*Boo goes to his corner to come up with a new strategy.
So now that Evasion stacks like enchantments on items, is there, or will there be, any way for us to see what our 'net' evasion is?
