Item cost oddities.... (in General)

Rubberducky just pointed this out to me.

A Shadow Cloak [11] (+22) worth $2,452,113 owned by Sefton (Gyaxx)
A Shadow Cloak [11] (+17) worth $846,187 owned by I Am [Lazy] (Matchbox 20)
Cloak of Etherality [11] (+18) worth $800,814 owned by QBRanger (The Apocalypse Book)
A Shadow Cloak [11] (+18) worth $767,530 owned by [-war-] (The Horde)
A Shadow Cloak [11] (+18) worth $767,530 owned by CoolWater (BlueWater)

So, a +17 has more NW than ranger's +18... which has more NW than War's and Coolwater's +18.


So, In summary.... huh?

one question, where do you go to see the NW tho? i goto item meta stats and only see the +17....+18....etc.

Is the nw dependent on forging? Perhaps the two lower +18's aren't forged fully so that the forge cycle gets to zero? And Ranger's is named so maybe that's taken into consideration these days? Doesn't explain the +17 though.

The naming doesn't get taken into consideration on other items (Adam, etc.) I just checked.

Is there a possibility that this is a rogue cloak left whose price reflects the price before Jonathan raised the base AC? Maybe this one missed the adjustment in part?

You see the same thing much more commonly with leather gear.

Let's see.... it has something to do with what the + is when you buy it at the store...

Then it's got a much lower store cost and NW?

I know it's got to do with the store price.

some facts:

It has nothing to do with the difference between forge & blacksmith
It has nothing to do with the difference between store or black market items.

It has to do with the way Jonathan updates the items to reflect the new AC change of Shadow Cloaks (or items in general)

the same happened with the 'new' and 'old' Inexhaustible Arrows back on CB1, i doubt he will change it though the difference is quite a lot.

Isn't the NW of an item reflective of how much been put into it? Do any of the rares spawn above base?

some rares spawn above base, but they have the same NW as a base one that is upgraded the same amount...

so a +1 item from store has the same NW as the same base item upgraded to +1...
