Request minor changes for next change period (in General)

1) When clan member(s) draw, give them one point each. This acknowledges the effort.

2) Looks like we have an excess of bolts in the store. Maybe the store shouldn't spawn so many. Looks like not many people are using xbows these days.

3) Battle logs: Could the seconds be displayed for the time the battle happened? I'm assuming it's stored as a normal date/time value in a database, so it should just be a data display issue. (I'm doing some data analysis and finding unique fights would be easier with seconds being displayed. Especially when farming is going on.)

4) Battle logs (redux): Could the system keep a full days worth of battle logs for everyone? 1000 fights gets you barely 1/3 of a day for some people. Having a full day in one log would be really sweet.

5) Named items: Can we have a page that displays all the named items, like on CB1? Right now there's no way to see all the named ammo, or any item not worth to be listed in Stats->Items->Normal. Or any item not in the top 50 even in those lists, really.

Erm... maybe you should just ignore #2. I just looked again and it's certainly not true right now. Maybe right now is a fluke or maybe all the previous times I noticed excess bolts were not normal times. Either way, please just ignore #2, unless other people can confirm my observations.

OK, now look at the store. The first 14 items are all bolts. That's what I see normally. Maybe they're all just bunched at the top because they cost more. Meh.

Wow, Undertow, that's a great idea!

Let's see: There's 119 pages of highest scores. So that's 70 * 118 = 8260 characters, plus maybe 40 on that last page, so let's call it an even 8300. At, let's say 10 seconds per character (click on link, look for any named items, then click back), it will take 83,000 seconds to view them all. That's 1383 minutes or about 23 hours. I'll get right on it.

But wait. I see a flaw in your brilliant idea! What if they don't have the named item equipped? Then I won't be able to even see it. Oh dang it all! So close. Now you know what Napoleon must have felt like after Moscow in the Campaign of 1812. Undone by a simple miscalculation.

Addendum to number 3: alternatively display the unique ID for the battle record (I would assume there is one). Would be kind of fun to say, "I was in battle 50 million!" This would serve Almuric's purpose, but would take more room. The seconds idea is pretty damn fine.

Just out of curiousity then, why do you crave to see ALL of the weapons/armor/ammo named in the game? Obbsession?

When someone like Tolkien writes a book, he doesn't call his characters 'A' and 'B' and 'C', or 'Bearded Guy', 'Short Dude', and 'Woodsy Type'; he calls them 'Gandalf' and 'Bilbo' and 'Strider'.

For pretty much the same reasons, people name their items here. (Yeah, it gives you a bonus too, but that's minor.) We're creating characters. We're telling a story. We're fleshing out our characters. We're giving them... character. Goths wear black all the item. It says something about them. I wear a Hawaiian shirt every Friday. It says something about me and it's a nice change from the polo-short and khakis almost everyone wears the rest of the week.

Being able to see all the named items allows me to catch a glimpse of all the different stories being told here. Sort of an index into a whole bunch of stories my character is only peripherally involved in.

You know, I was gonna write a whole bunch more here, but what's the point? I don't have to convince you. Jon will either do it or not. I think it's missing because it was an oversight, not because he made a deliberate decision not to make that page.

Can I add what a really simple request here - can we have a link to our user page in the left hand frame. We have links to everything else there - why not that one? Why is the only way I can get to that page through a character page? Please please pretty please?

I thought you were interested in seeing what X item was or something.

Almuric, I think it was a deliberate decision not to make that page; my guess is to avoid the potential negative of revealing the stats on named items. For your purposes, though, the page could forgo the stats altogether. I'm keen on that idea.

Johnnywas, there is a link to your user page in Settings. It's not exactly what you want, but it will save you one click.

i believe johnny was asking instead of going from Manage Characters > User Name to see it maybe we could just have a quick link maybe? If that is what he was saying, it's not that bad....

One more small request -- could the frequency of botchecks in the forge be pulled back a bit? Bots haven't been a problem in quite a while.
