I just logged on and one of my characters has disappeared, he wasn't retired. I fought with him around 8:45 pm. Would someone please help me.

Maybe he was retired because his score to PR ratio was low. Did you get a warning email?

it shows up in your retired list.

It was likely autoretired due to the low Score/PR ratio.
Good news is that in 4 days youll have the option to unretire him/her and get the items back off. Esp the RoE thats still on it.

Why didn't I receive an email warning me. And how do I unretire him when the time comes. Thanks for the responses.

You will be given the option to unretire in 4 days. Just keep a look out under the manage characters page for the option.
