Automatic Retirements? (in General)

From what I know, a character can be retired automatically if it's score/PR(MPR) ratio drops down too low. Yes?

Well, my character "Gear of Xiaz" is a mule. No minions, thus no PR or score. Yet just this morning I noticed it had been retired.

I stress, I DID NOT retire the character myself, I DID NOT recieve a email warning. All of my spare/rental gear was on it, so it's not a big problem, I can wait the four days.

But why did this happen?
