Need help translating writing (in Off-topic)

I don't know what language it's written in, but I'm sure it's an eastern language. Anyways, have a picture of it, but it's too large (by about 7K) to put as my portrait and I don't have another easy way to show it on the web. So two questions, one, does anyone have someplace I can upload the picture, and two does anyone think they could translate it for me?

AdminShade August 25 2005 3:57 PM EDT

can't you put up a small part of the text so that people can see which language it is?

Maelstrom August 25 2005 3:59 PM EDT

How Eastern of a language do you mean? Eastern as in Arabic, Eastern as in Russian, or Eastern as in Chinese?

AdminShade August 25 2005 3:59 PM EDT

or eastern as in some other slavic country

AngryZac August 25 2005 4:01 PM EDT

Eastern as in Chinese. Good idea, I'll do just that (put up part of text)

Maelstrom August 25 2005 4:03 PM EDT

Yep, that's definitely Chinese. I can't translate it, but I could ask some friends tomorrow...

AngryZac August 25 2005 4:09 PM EDT

That would be great Maelstrom :) I can upload the second part tomorrow too...or maybe it's the first part...I don't actually know.

Maelstrom August 25 2005 4:11 PM EDT

Another option would be to simply shrink the image a bit so that you can upload the whole thing...

Are you talking about the words of that picture of your character?
If that is so,
The first line says “I love you”
Second line says “Love you till old age” or “I love you forever” =).

But I can tell who ever write that is not a Chinese, or at least Chinese is not his or her first language…lol.

AngryZac August 25 2005 4:25 PM EDT

IceWindvz, thank you very much! Can you now translate the last part?

AngryZac August 25 2005 4:28 PM EDT

I should mention I changed my portrait to the last part :)

AdminShade August 25 2005 5:09 PM EDT

WOW huge chinese, you should better try to make the image smaller in actual size rather than resizing the pc size :P

xDanELx August 25 2005 5:37 PM EDT

First character is "Love". Not sure atm what it means in conjunction with the second char. 3rd, 4th, & 5th is "3", "10", & "6" respectively, it means 36. The last character is simplified chinese. Just can't remember what the traditional version for it is. If I'm not mistaken, it means "count". I'll get back to you on those. :)

xDanELx August 25 2005 5:46 PM EDT

Apparently, its a song. "36 Plans for Love " or something like that. A friend of mine recognized it straight of the bat.

Icewindvz August 25 2005 6:44 PM EDT

Confirm what ‘xDanELx’ says, it means ‘Love 36 plans or tricks’. And it is a song name too and the singer is “Cai Yi Lin”.

Where did you get those hand writing, and why you want to know the meaning? just for fun +)?

I bought two high chairs recently, and inside both boxes was a box containing the legs, on the inside of one of those boxes (noticed when breaking it down) was this writting. It wasn't on the inside of the otherbox, so I had to find out what it meant, because someone when putting it all together took the time to write it, and I couldn't just let it go to the trash unread :) Thanks again everyone!
