Auto Store select/buy was baned. How about Auto Select Next/Fight? (in General)

Arorrr September 5 2005 8:19 PM EDT

It is very obvious that some people has script to do auto select next available (is freely distribute and not against the rule) but auto fight as well. Or may be I'm dreaming because I can never able to hit Down Button and Fight as enough as they could. And I can never able to select next highest avalable opponent as soon as they are available by action of fighting (fight camping). But then again, I can always join them by downloading the script.

Spread the love and smash the Return button until I get hit with a check or run out of BA and the script will make sure I'll always earn the highest rewards on my favorite list, especially if any of them are on and fighting as well.

Well you have three options for fighting...

1. Press C then Enter, repeat until out of BA (Clan Fighting)
2. Press down arrow then Enter, repeat until out of BA (All on your List)
3. Use Verifex's script and Just press Enter, repeat until out of BA (All on your List)

I can fight just as fast with or without the script. It is just one less keystroke on my keyboard which in my mind is extending its longevity.

deathwake September 5 2005 8:29 PM EDT

I'm sure you can still find something to click fight for you and use that in conjunction with Verifex's script and only have to fill in the bot checks.

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] September 5 2005 9:04 PM EDT

Good point Arorrr, but does fighting faster really give anyone an advantage, other than having
your BA done in less time? I myself do use the advancer, and when I fight all I have to do is
hold down the return key, but I dont feel being able to use my full BA in less than 10 minutes
is really an advantage over someone who uses their BA in 30 minutes.

Special J September 5 2005 9:43 PM EDT

I fight just as fast as the server responds to me request without using a script.

And no, I am not on dialup.

Xiaz on Hiatus September 5 2005 9:55 PM EDT

Deathwake, that is what you would call a BOT. A script/micro that fights for you is illegal, just because you answer the BOT checks doesn't make it okay. Why do you think the BOT check is there for? To stop people using software to fight for them...

deathwake September 5 2005 10:02 PM EDT

I know that sunny but with Verifex's script it doesn't seem that hard to do after looking for an autoclicker of which im sure there are many you can download.

P.S. look at my char does it really look like im doing this....i think not

Chocolate Thunder September 5 2005 10:11 PM EDT

A) Time to burn through a full set of BA is more dependent on size of favorites list than speed of clicking.

B) I, like wuss, click C + Enter about as fast as the server will let me. (I also do not have a dial up).

Basically, I don't see how a script would give a huge advantage in fighting like it did in camping.

Mikel [Bring it] September 5 2005 10:46 PM EDT

I agree, it doesn't really save any time.
I can zip thru my list as fast as the server can go with out it, so I don't see why it's as good. I also zip to the top of my fightlist constantly which in a way can slow me down, but not that much.

Special J September 5 2005 11:06 PM EDT

Mikel, pageup + c + enter

one more key stroke amounts to nothing ;)

Arorrr September 5 2005 11:26 PM EDT

Mrwus,

Apparently, you misunderstand my point, or you are not *aware* of the advantage of fighting scripts.

A normal fav fight: a, b, c, d,..., z and page up, a, b, c... again
A script fav fight: a, b, c, [if a or b fight at the same time] a, b,a,a,a,b,c,d,b,a,c,d.. (as fast as a or b can fight)

Since a is top of the fav list = more reward = same number of fight + better reward.

Seriously, when you go down the list fighting as fast as you can, do you stop in the middle and see if any of the top fav opponents are out of comatose so you can fight him again?

Warchild September 6 2005 12:52 AM EDT

The ruling on this is is rather easy and clear...at least 1 click (or keystroke) for every action (ie each fight, forge cycle, or store visit (though the last may be a non-issue now))

If you run a script that automatically selects the next person on your list or the highest non-comatose person on your list it is fine so long as you still have to hit enter (or click fight) to actually commence the fight. Any program that allows you to skip having to hit enter is a BOT and is illegal (and unfair to others) whether it helps your character in the long run or not.

The same is true for scripts that select the appropriate option (heat time, cooldown, or spell) in the forge. They can be used as long as you still have to click (or hit enter) to actually implement the action.

Grim Reaper September 6 2005 3:32 AM EDT

I have 18 people on my list with good rewards, by the time I'm almost to the bottom the top ones are out of comotose so I just go back to the top and fight the target to see if it can be fought again. I burn my ba pretty fast with c and enter. This script thing is not that much of a problem except for having 2 fingers in pain after hitting same buttons over and over. Macro/automating is a part of many online games because players are just too lazy or are just too bored to sit there in front of comp and do the work themselves.

But if it is against the rules then there should be actions taken, in most games, automation is a bannable offense. If automation was a felony on Earth, we would be stuck in the pre computer age and everyone would have to do things by hand. Automation makes things easier and lets people go on with other tasks. In the case of where everyone should play by the rules, this would be cheating. Especially in a game like this where all we have to do is do some clicking and we are done for the day. Are we that lazy that we have to have scripts play the game for us?

AdminShade September 6 2005 4:55 AM EDT

if i see 2 people constantly fighting and i can 'farm' them then i just keep on switching between those 2 people without any script or whatsoever...

Undertow September 6 2005 5:10 AM EDT

First of all Arorr, yes.

Second of all, with Mr wuss's "page up + C + enter" combo, it DOES do the same thing the script does.

bartjan September 6 2005 5:15 AM EDT

Page Up, C, Enter will always skip the first char on the list, except when all others are comatose.

Undertow September 6 2005 5:23 AM EDT

your right, so stick Ranger at the top of your list, then you won't have the problem of WANTING to fight the top person ;)

bartjan September 6 2005 6:29 AM EDT

Well, what if all others on the list are comatose? ;)

Mikel [Bring it] September 6 2005 6:39 PM EDT

We won't complain about a few extra CPs. :)
