You're using a bow and shield, there is a DX penalty IIRC.
if u inspect my char with ^the link above^ it says i got 10K dx, but come fight time its 4K :S.
and i just noticed another thing, its not only against Kai that i have 4K dx its against every other person on my fightlist :S
nope Ford, i just checked it now and w/o the shield i still have that dx penalty :S
I've got 500 Dex and nothing happened when I fought Kai.

Shield + bow is not a 60% reduction in dex.
My ROUGH guess would be some sort of no melee bug.
Doh! That wold be it. it's a 60% penalty, so if you've no melee weapon equipped, and the fight lasted into melee, the stats shown at the end of the battle would show the penalty.

yes...i just equipped my vorpal and its true the dx went back up ;)

If you have no melee weapon you get a straight 60% dex penalty, off the top of everything.

do you even get the penalty during ranged?
I hope not, 'cus that would be dumb.
So then you should put a melee weapon on even if you have a mage team...
no, the DX penalty only happens if you have ONLY a ranged weapon, you dont get a DD penalty for having a DD spell only
