Mosh Pit Injuries (in Off-topic)

Well i was at a concert last night and the mosh pit was huge. Out of nowhere i get busted in the nose with an elbow. Result is....broken nose!

What are your worst pit injuries?

Someone stepped on my foot once, and later someone pushed me! Oh, the pain! :-o

I once witnessed a guy get his lipring pulled out, and another guy lose a nosering the hard way. I once lost my hat, it was a great hat too, it had a naked mermaid on it.

I once had to act as a wall between a fat sweaty guy doing the pogo and some random girl that just wanted to see the show.

I never got hurt in a mosh pit, but I did manage to break my nose in a horrible go-kart flip.
My girlfriend thinks the crooked nose is cute.
The doctor said he could pop the broken part back out but it was a lot of money and it wouldn't be 100% so I said don't worry.

No injury, but I was at Leeds festival in 2002 watching Prodigy. It was well hot in front of the stage so I put my hoodie round my waist. No idea how but I managed to lose the drawstring out of the thing, crazy thing is its just not the kind of thing that goes missing is it? Never managed to lose one before and it wouldn't be easy pulling one out... mental ;P

Haha, that was the year all the portaloos got set on fire, the flames were about 100 ft high, must've been all the chemicals and booze. We woke up the next day to a scene out of Platoon or something, lamposts bent over, tents had been burnt out, a few quad-bikes had been set on fire and chucked in a ditch. Ah, them were the days.

I was in the pit once and this guy comes up to me holding his right index finger in his left hand... severed from his hand. He was very excited for some reason.

The thing that I really can't stand about the pit is crowd surfing. I can't tell you how many times I have had great shows ruined because of crowd surfers landing on my head and pushing my spine out my rear end because I don't want to look away from the stage. Sometimes I wish I was either really tall or really short...

aha the 'riots' of Leeds Festival 2002 - I was there for those! And then with a very bad hangover came back to London where I lived on the route of the Notting Hill Carnival - trying to sleep it off on the bank holiday monday with the loudest bass you've ever heard right outside my front door.

My worst injury at a gig was Reading Festival 1996 - the ground had been really muddy and was just starting to dry out until the last band on the saturday night - Black Grape I think - and my then girlfriend was jumping up and down and managed to push me into the ground up to my knees. One of my ankles then gave way half a foot under ground - but she didn't notice until three songs later.....

suprisingly enough ive never been hurt in a pit been knocked down but thats the worst also, i almost got some other guy beat up caused i punched a neo nazi in the face at a dropkick show and he thought it was some other random guy

Went to a Mudvayne/Disturbed concert, i luckily did not get injured, but i got so reved up, that i actually brokje a guy's nose fortrying to get a feel of my girl. Then i went to a Static-X concert, got tossed into the pit and actually broke three of my fingers

Fear Factory/SLipklnot concert.....do the math, bunch of metal heads together!

local band (dayIdread on my space, love it! ), ate the bass guitar neck, sliced my lip near off and split my nose right up the middle.

Way back in my late teen years I went to a Pantera concert and when the band start to play the first song everyone in entire colliseum decided to have a huge pit. Anyways this colliseum had about a 15 foot wall around what was essentially a pit in the center. Well once the band started playing everyone that had seats in the upper decks decided to basically do a mass lawn dart experiment and started running to the edge and just jumping down onto everyone that was already down there. I believe there were 200+ people taken to emergency room for bones broke and being knocked out from all the yahoos that were commiting hari kari. Luckily I wasn't one of the unfortunate ones so I managed to get out of the the concert with only minor swelling throughout my body. So I would have to say that was the meanest pit I ever was involved in.

went to see rage against the machine and wu-tang clan play at the camden e-center, which made for an interesting crowd to say the least. i was pretty whacked, but i do remember angry ppl and more than a few brawls. i tend to avoid pits if i can being that i'm 5' 6" and ~125 pounds, plus skinheads are really annoying.

anyhow, rage came on and one formed right around where i was standing so i had no choice this time. caught a mean elbow to the right eye. i went down, hard. lots of stars. luckily some kind person pulled me away from the chaos (thanx if you're reading this!). brought home a shiner as a souvenir. then i had to endure the one-liner, "rage against benny's right eye" for a while after that.

went pitting with a knee I'd torn out the weekend before (but just for Bad Religion, I even skipped the Lagwagon pit that year)

You know those spiey bracelets that those kids wear? I got an arm full of them at a System of a Down concert.

Oh... Pit injuries...

I don't pit, I'm there for the drinking and pitting just get's int he way. But one of my best mates lives for it!

He's had a thumb to the eye, more bruises and sprained joints than he can count, and had to crawl out of one once before he blacked out.

But the worse seen was a guy who had been going out of control got smashed to the ground then stomped on the head. The band had to stop, and the air ambulance was called to get him out...

Long time ago I went to see a band called The Prisoners (fantastic band they were too). It was a great gig but during the last few songs one guy at the front was getting a little too enthuasiastic with his dancing. However instead of pulling him out the security piled into him kicking and punching. He was only a small guy, they were huge blokes and the band took exception to this downed instruments and laid into the security guys. Gig over, major fight between venue security and the band.....

Actually my worst mosh pit injury was when I was singing in a band. I'd had a little bit too much to drink before hand and while singing a tune I tripped over a monitor and went face down over the edge of the stage, did a full somersault and landed on my back still singing. I was so drunk I didn't feel a thing but the next day I was black and blue and couldn't stand up.....

Download festival this year a guy climbed a tent support at one of the stages, tried a "stage dive" from it, everyone moved and the guy fell to his death, was a horrible sight.
Bowling For Soup gig a crowdsurfing girl got launched from 3 rows back and landed flat on her face in front of the stage (serves her right).
Worst I had was at Download festival this year. I was there for System Of A Down headlining the Sunday night and practically forced up to crowd surf, a circle pit opened in front of me, landed flat on my back and the rest you can guess.

Sore throat from (loudly) singing along with BNL at Madison Square Garden.

i just got a retainer and my 2 front teeth knocked loose from an elbow i was close to you chargerz in almost the nose....

someone I know stabbed someone so hard with his spike bracelet, one of the spikes let loose :X.

I guess it pays to be 6'5 275lbs. lol only gotten a bloody nose a few times and kicked/elbowed/punched/pushed. And why Mosh when it's so much more fun to Slam?
