The CB2 Multi Lottery (in General)

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] September 18 2005 8:37 AM EDT

Currently, when a multi is reset or banned his equipment of value goes to an admin and it then can go to auctions. This keeps relatively high valued items in the game, which I think is a good idea.
The problem: Putting a valuable item in auctions allows the high level people with cash to spend the opportunity to bid and win these valuable items. Newer players who aren't as wealthy don't have as good a chance.
The Reality: The reality is that multis hurt the game and ALL of the players of all sizes and ranks.

The Proposal: Create a lottery--The Multi-Lottery--Everyone who wants to play the lottery can pay a nominal fee that most could afford. The winner of the lottery gets the item. I think this is a fair way to deal with the spoils of multis.
Any thoughts?

some of the admins already had some of this in mind LONG LONG ago to be honest, it just had to be a secret and we had to have enough items for it :P

Hmmm, the "one man FORS army" might have something this time! ;D

Why do you need a lot of items and why pay a fee? Every month or so, just randomly select some people from the "recently been playing" list and give everything away. No need to hand out tickets or ask if people want to be in the pool. If multis really hurt everyone, then everyone should be automatically entered.

Or occasionally put those items in the store so the campers can have something to do.

I'm not sure why keeping ill-gotten rares in the game is a good idea. With exception of supporter items that no longer spawn, I can't think of a good reason to keep rares from multis other than having someone else benefit from the actions of a banned multi. As I see it, there's plenty of rares to go around as long Jonathan keeps them spawning at what he thinks is an appropriate rate. I think CB2 may be better off without "tainted" rares. Just another point of view...

i tend to agree with Pat... if someone has been removed for cheating, then why should anyone else get his/her equipment... i agree with the idea of a lottery but, i cant help but feel wrong about someone else gaining possibly awsome items for the wrong reasons... choosing at random, sure... but that still leaves the item in another potentially dangerous set of hands...

i think, "they cheated, so those items, technically, shouldn't be there. Let them be destroyed." ill gotten gais was the best way to put it...

(a) I like it
(B) I think it should be done either monthly, weekly, or every 2 weeks.
(C) should be winner takes all, including the small fee's that everyboddy else paid (oh and of corse some goes to me :)
