Is there score inflation going on? (in General)

I started wondering when I saw a lot more chars with high score to PR ratios (also applies to an extent to score:MPR ratios)

So I tried a couple of battles with Murcielago - char that's been inactive since I grew Maranello. Seems that Murcielago is a lot stronger that his score would warrant (and his score is largely unchanged since I first retired him almost two months ago). This is with a slightly changed strategy, but with lesser gears than before (smaller axbow instead of big exbow, same ToE, no armor at all instead of the EB/EG/EC/MgS setup, changed a baby FB mage to an AS enchanter)

I'm thinking that the scores have gotten higher in the past few months - is this a problem? Not a big concern, but if rewards are related to your own PR vs. your target's score, this would create some extra rewards in the system.

Thoughts? Is this a waste of a post?

I don't get any bigger gains exp or $ wise. Even though there are a lot more characters over 1 mil Score now.

I've noticed many times that scores tend to slowly inflate, then reach 'critical mass' and fall rapidly over a day. Within the last day I've noticed the scores around my level falling again. I think it's already stabilized, though.

my score has went from 700k to nearly 900k (now ~800k) in the past weeks so no inflation here...

Your PR is a factor in your score. So it will always be more difficult to pull away from it then it is to get closer to it.

I've maintained my score at 2.5 to 3 times my PR for a while now. I figured it was because my strategy, though different, was sound. I prefer this explanation... :)

I have noticed the same, which is fine since everyone around me is falling.

well DAWG and Ranger hold the 2mill monopoly for scores so if someone could kill them in 1 fight then we will go up even more :)

i was thinking the opposite, deflation.
if you look at ppl's graphs who are ~800k - ~1m score (mine included) you'll notice that many peaked out at just over a mil and are now on a serious down-swing. hopefully seeker is right and it is stabilizing now. i'm not hitting the panic button yet, but i do miss my six digit score. =\

Considering that the mid-level players are seeing very nice scores, maybe there is a shift going on. High end dropping a bit, mid level raising a bit.

Or maybe I'm just experiencing what MrWuss was talking about: I kill everyone in my standard list, and many higher.

I've been seeing a lot of deflation this week. As of Saturday, I had a score of almost 1.1mil. It dropped to 950k on Sunday, and I've been doing all I can to keep it above 900k this week. Everyone in my usual range has also fallen about 100k-200k in score this week.

I guess this would be a bad time to mention that I'm not experiencing these fluctuations much at all, but my fight list is.

My score has shot up about 100k. But thats probably from the combination of my playing more lately and my leaving a clan.I havn't really noticed any changes in my rewards and my fight list hasn't changed much other than adding more non-clanners.

my score a week ago used to be in the 900's and my targets were too, now I am down to 750-800's and my targets are at 900max

My score is down by 300k as well. :(

This week I hit over 700k in score with my 220k PR character The Last Samurai. It's down to 640k ('cause I'm in a clan that gets farmed a little...).

That was roughly 3.2 times my PR.

I'm still roughly in the same place in character standings but my score has dropped about 200k. I was over the million mark at the beginning of the week. The scores from about the number 20 standing downwards have all dropped this week.

I think we need to have DAWG and Ranger voluntarily unequip their items so we can farm them a bit and cause scores to inflate to 2k :)
