It'll take a pair of +17 to counteract the CoC nerf...

A pair of +19 to counteract the MM...

And a pair of +25 for FB.

Thats a crazy amount of money.

+18 52,081,988 - Holy Wack!

chappy [Soup Ream] September 23 2005 10:28 AM EDT

U better have a CoI in addition to the gloves :)

QBOddBird September 23 2005 10:43 AM EDT

+13 AG, +13 CoI.

The latest change simply involves blowing a lot of money to get your DD back where it was, + some AC.

People tend to forget that even though their damage is cut, this amounts to a major loss of AMF damage. First the AMF does damage that is proportional to what you would have done. Now you do less damage so now you get less damage on the backlash too.

Then throw in the gloves. Yeah you may not reach the power you had before, but you are still getting stronger against AMF because the level of your spell in comparison to the AMF is getting higher.

Overall, slightly less damage and a lot less AMF, I love it.

Special J September 23 2005 1:24 PM EDT

Um, AMF is off the level you go into the fight with, which includes bonuses from items.

[T]Vestax September 23 2005 1:51 PM EDT

Exactly Mrwuss. let me set this up this way.

Before:

500k CoC versus 500k AMF assuming the CoC did 90% of it's damage on one opponent. Then factor in that AMF of equal size will cut 50% of the damage and hit the caster with 40% of that. The caster now takes 180k in damage.

After:

The same 500k CoC versus the same 500k AMF. Let's now assume you do 14% less then 90% of the level of the spell in damage. That's 77.4% of the CoC's level now. Naturally you now do 154.8k in damage to yourself per round.

Then add the AG's in and your _level_ is now higher then it's ever been before and now gets above the AMF. You can safely say that you are now doing less damage to yourself and about as much damage to the opponent because less of the almost same damage is being blocked by AMF.

Against some opponents people will not even notice a damage reduction once they put on their pair of AG's. _Even if the AG does not match up to the percentage of damage lost before_. Any team with a strong AMF may even see their opponents doing _more_ damage then before. So stop complaining.

Jerk September 23 2005 1:53 PM EDT

well if the gloves have an affect of my Fb just because I have a large AMF then I definetly got to get me a pair of them

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 23 2005 2:45 PM EDT

Yup Vestax is spot on! ;) The loss in damage reduces AMF backlash, and the increase from gloves means AMF is less effective versus you anyway.

Assuming yo get a pair of AG s.

;)

AdminShade September 23 2005 2:47 PM EDT

I agree with Vestax and GentlemanLoser fully!

"little" less damage perhaps but also less taken, and with the gloves, your magic spell level increases and thus the damage taken goes down again.

wicked jonathan!

Grim Reaper September 23 2005 6:39 PM EDT

damage taken can only go up as dd level increases, once you hit enough +'s from coi and altar to get back to w/e damage you had before nerf, then you can upgrade more to increase the damage more. Ok here is my point:

The higher you increase dd the more damage you will take it doesn't matter about the amf. My tattoo takes more and more damage from same level amf as it goes up in levels.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 23 2005 8:39 PM EDT

But as your DD level increase, the percent opposing AMF is cast at decreases.

Yes, if your train your DD spell, but fail to reduce the AMF you face, you will take more damage than not training.
