Suggestion for minions (in General)

Maybe this has been brought up before, but I would like to make this suggestion. Maybe a FORS but I would like to know your thoughts on this.

We have the option to retire and unretire a character, we also have the option to learn and unlearn skills/spells. Why can't we have the option to retire and unretire minions.
This will give us more ways of tweaking our strats, trying out strategies from 4 minions to 3 or less minions. But, off course there will be penalties for retiring/unretiring minions just like when we unlearn skills/spells, say 2-3% off from whatever learned spells/skills on the retired minions and also probably a 2 days waiting period to unretire the minion. However, when you retired a minion from a 4 minions team and you later hired another minion, your retired minion will be automatically fired.

Or you simply have the option to bench a minion.

which was a FORS?

This has been raised before. IIRC, Jon said something along the lines of when to hire new minions was a strategic decisions, so being able to bench minions wouldn't be a good idea. I can't find the exact post though...

I was simply taking all he said and condensing it into one sentence.

However, to say the reason is that the current system is strategic is rather silly. Anything could be said to be strategic in this game. When to buy ammo, when to burn BA, when to eat cheese. The game is inherently strategic. Besides, he made that argument obsolete when he introduced the RoE. I'm still not supporting the idea, just giving my first thoughts to such an argument.

What Jon said is true, it's strategic decision. But, so are any other decisions we make when we unlearn any skills or spells. With so many changes during the change months, it will be good for players with highly trained minions. It gives them more options at tweaking their strategies. Trying out different combinations of minions and still enable them to stay competitive at their own level.

Vestax, I did say strategic

decision

, and it was from memory, so I could be totally wrong. Just giving what I recall as Jon's view point, obviously it may have changed or may not have.

I myself have suggested this and so have others, it would indeed be a good new system for minions, being able to "shorten" our team and give the other minions more EXP to build them up, or even temporarily be a ET or EM depending on our desired strategic layout. :P

/me eats cheese, Sun Tzu must be grinning from ear to ear now :P
