Beat me for a share of the pot. (in Contests)

In all the time I have played CB I've not found a time waster that I've visited more often whilst waiting for BA to regenerate than the "fish game". As a mark of respect to this great little game I'd like to run a contest (sponsored by my admin character) and give you all a chance to take part.

Money Pot = $1,000,000 + A Mithril Shield [15](+20)

The overall winner will receive the MS and an equal share of the $1m pot with all the other winners.

How do you win?
Use up your BA and from the "Carnage Blender > Allowance Exceeded" page click on the link for the "fish game".
Go through the various beginner levels until you get to the screen that offers you the opportunity to play the "Time Trial".
Select Time Trial from Tank 2 and then choose your pets.
Play the time trial (don't worry you don't have to go through the beginner levels every time) until you get a "Total Score" that you think will be the best.
Take a screen shot of your best score and post it on this forum thread. If you need help hosting an image then either ask someone in chat or google "free online image hosting".
N.B. Only your first screenshot will be included in this competition so make sure it's your best one. All other scores posted after your first will be deleted.

Contest closes at cache flush on Friday. I'll post the best score I achieve between now and Friday and award the prizes to the people that have beaten me. If 2 people get higher than my score they will receive $500k each with the overall winner also getting the MS. It's only fair to point out that it's unlikely that only 2 people will win as I suck at most games and I'm sure a lot of you will beat my score :) If by any freak of nature (or the fact that no one is interested) and I end up with the highest score then the goodies stay with my admin character until I can be bothered running another contest ;)

This "PopCap Browser Plug-in" isn't spyware or some other evil thing, is it?

this game is surprisingly fun.

Insane Aquarium is AWESOME. If I had a credit card, I'd have the full version bought and paid for a long time ago.

To help and hopefully answer some of the questions I've been getting....

Once you get through the 10 beginner levels you will come to this screen. You want to choose "Time Trial" on tank 2.


Next you will come to the screen that allows you to choose your Pets (helpers).


Finally you will be in the game and it should look like this. I've taken my pets out as I don't want to give clues to which ones I think work best :p

come on ppl start posting your scores, i just now beat the time trial and i want to see if my 90k score stands up to anything, so that way i might not have to go back and keep trying and end up breaking my fingers.

The 10 initial levels take too long. I lost interest.

I dont understand the Star potion and star eater, can you explain?

you get a hint when you do the wrong thing :p

you have to find it out yourself man, thats the competition :)

Big fishes eat the star potions and start pooping out stars that get eaten by the starcatchers. You get diamonds when the starcatchers catch a star. I usually try to get about 2 or 3 of those guys catching stars for me. The money rolls in quickly that way.

But then I read the post, and my fears were allayed. :)

some more tips:

a Silver coin is worth 15 points
a Gold coin is worth 35 points
a Star is worth 40 points
a Diamond is worth 200 points.


And I actually got the most points without even using those Star Catchers :)

blast it all, I can't seem to break the 20k mark. But, I shall keep trying!!!!!(!!)

no honestly high score would perhaps be 90k since Adrian posted a hint of it but perhaps somebody has a lot lot more...

I've played this thing a lot since posted and I'm having a hard time breaking $20,000. Adrian must not have picked the time trial or he's trying to psych people out.

I am having a hard time going over 21,000 I can get there but that is about it.

I just psent two days trying to get over 15k..... then I realized I've been doing Tank 1...................

So, onto Tank 2.

Ah.... tank 2 is much easier... I'm able to touch 30k...

I can see how Adrian's 90k claim might be halfway real... I can see 45k as viable. I think at the least, the Mermaid and Prego are required. Does the skeleton fish drop extra coins when the mermaid sings? There might be some synergy there.

skeleton fish just keeps on dropping on its own, the mermaid doesn't make it drop faster.

i broke 40k yesterday evening

I don't think I can hit 40k yet. My high is 34565. What time on Friday is the cache flush?

Yikes... so I gotta be posting Thursday night / Friday morning... I usually don't get back on Thursdays until late. I hope I make it back in time to post a final score. I can't break my high yet.

Remember I'm bad at this game. I'm sure many people will beat my score and qualify for a share of the pot so don't forget to get your entries in before contest closes at cache flush Friday am.

ok so I have a screwy schedule that makes me think its still the day before at least till the sunrises and I'm on the west coast so do you mean Thursday night 1am(4am server time) or Friday night 1am...which would be Saturday morning 4 am i guess....i think...?

Friday cache flush is 11 hrs from now if I'm not mistaken :)

You know, there's two versions of this game. If you scroll down further on the website, you'll see a link to an older version of the game. You get Vert the Skeleton Fish as your first guy.

Ah... found a nicer combination of helper fish. I broke 50k.

you mean my strat?

just the mermaid the snail and the jellyfish,
and then get as many goldfish you can and lots of clicking.

my strategy was having the mermaid, the fish spawning thing and the dead fish, those 3 made sure i had a good amount of money to start with.

after that i just upgraded food asap and got a fish to throw stars, and then pump out some star catchers.

with 6 minutes or so left i had 6 catchers and 6 star fish which meant lots of diamonds already, just kept catching diamonds for lots of cash
