For the fortieth time, the vote is only _one factor_ in the QB process.

Sefton won the popular vote, but his candidacy did not impress as much in other areas.

If it went only by the vote then it is a popularity contest. And that is not what the QB is about.

I should note that the decision to make Bast _and_ Ranger QBs was not made without due deliberation.

After a lot of very difficult math, we determined that the world would _not_ implode as a result, so we went ahead with it. But it was a near thing.

What is the reason for the Vote if it doesn't matter? is it just for show? Fault me for being new (but don't fine me) I'm just very confused about this whole process since I was nominated, and didn't make it past round 2 which I understand is up to Jon and the admins as to who get put on the ballet for voting, then I guess again it's up to them as to who really wins the votes.

They do take the votes into consideration. You won't win QB if NO ONE votes for you. Note that of the top 3, 2 won.

Jon simply feels Sefton didn't make a good case for why he should be QB. So he's not.

If sefton didnt make a good case for being QB, why even put him in the poll? I guess it goes down to who jon (and whoever else is involved in choosing a qb) likes the most. . .in that case, its just picking favorites.

For those wondering about the voting....
Don't confuse the community support poll with the actual selection process. The QB is selected by Jon and the admins. The voting allows the larger community to influence the choice, but it's ultimately up to Jon.

Do you think either Sutekh or Bast would have won if the community *didn't* show their support by voting in the poll?
