Perfect Strategy? (in General)

onlyyouknow October 11 2005 10:22 AM EDT

I've been playing around with different strategies and I've come up with a few strategies for your critique. All strategies involve 4 minion teams that emphasize on one main minion.

Strategy number 1 (ToA tank):
First minion: 1/3 AMF & 2/3 AS
Second minion: 1/3 AMF & 2/3 AS
Third minion: 1/2 AMF & 1/2 GA
Four minion: ToA tank trained in bloodlust.

Strengths: Good against mages and able to match other ToA tanks.
Weakness: DM will weaken all defence enchantments.

Strategy number 2 (ToE tank):
First minion(wearing ToE): 1/3 AMF & 2/3 AS
Second minion: 1/3 AMF & 2/3 AS
Third minion: 1/2 AMF & 1/2 GA
Four minion: Tank with all heavy tank gear.

Strengths: Good in dealing with mages. ToE allows GA to be more effective.
Weakness: ToA tanks & DM teams

Strategy number 3 (RoS tank):
First minion(wearing RoS): AS
Second minion: AMF
Third minion: 1/2 AMF & AS
Four minion: Tank with all heavy tank gear.

Strengths: Good in dealing with DM teams. Potential mage killing machine.
Weakness: ToA tanks

Any comments on the above? I'm leaning towards the first setup.

One suggestion for any Tank strategy is DX and lots of it. DX is king in the Tank world. The higher the better. You either need an EC minion or a Haste minion. I would suggest the EC route because it cannot be dispelled.

Well, I'll take note of that. I'm actually more concern about the damage from DD. Maybe using one of the minions to train EC is an option. But from what I know, EC isn't very effective.

EC is very effective though...

Modified the first setup to include EC:
Strategy number 4 (ToA tank):
First minion: 1/3 AMF & 2/3 AS
Second minion: 1/3 EC & 2/3 AS
Third minion: 1/2 AMF & 1/2 GA
Four minion: ToA tank trained in bloodlust.

Strengths: Good against mages and able to match other ToA tanks.
Weakness: DM will weaken all defence enchantments.

if you are 4 minion TOE, you can just worry less about mages and don't need to put too much emphasis on AMF,.

I don't have much to offer aside from:

EC is very effective agains any tank.

Also for your ROS strat a CoC mage (or maybe MM mage) would help you out against mage teams

Modified the second setup in consideration to ToE's effect.
Strategy number 5 (ToE tank):
First minion(wearing ToE): Pure AMF
Second minion: Pure AS
Third minion: 1/2 EC & 1/2 GA
Four minion: Tank with all heavy tank gear.

Strengths: Good in dealing with mages. ToE allows GA to be more effective.
Weakness: ToA tanks & DM teams

There should be more weakness than that :)
I think you under estimate the effect of a huge ec against tanks.

onlyyouknow October 11 2005 11:39 AM EDT

Well, we can only do so much :p
There are more mages than tanks out there so I'll target those mages and at the same time try make my tank strong so that it can match other tanks.

This is silly, there's already a perfect strategy out there.

Mine, of course.

XD

csraven October 11 2005 3:15 PM EDT

or you could just take a look at Tenlu... my strat includes a great deal of the last option... with haste to top it off... tis a good strat but i think it could use an improvement

onlyyouknow October 11 2005 5:59 PM EDT

I've thought of using haste with the RoS but I wanted to focus on one minion that's why I didn't use haste. The 4 minion team is acting 3 minions supporting one which will make that minion almost invincible given the correct gears.

Grim Reaper October 12 2005 12:28 AM EDT

You can always just go my route and go with lots of hp :)

AdminShade October 12 2005 4:10 AM EDT

but your score / pr ratio is very low brainless ;) doesn't make me think its that good ;p
