Strategy ideas? (in General)

When I first started thinking about Jack Crow, he was called 'A quiet storm' and was a non-Toa Tank, wearing a CoBF and a mage shield. I decided that what I wanted was a four minion team but the main damage dealer be they tank or mage was going to be a single minion for as long as I could manage it. I was going to hold out on other minions until I hit a point where I thought I couldn't afford it if the prices got any higher. So I fought as a single tank, a single FB/FF mage and then spent some cash on minions and ended up with the team he is now.
I've experimented with it a couple of times, the most recent time when I switched the ToE mage strategy to a RoS strategy and dropped score by about 250k! Quick and quiet change back.......
Anyhow, what's the point? I hear you say... well following my other little saga with starting an NCB char for a test and huge BA prices on my main etc etc etc - I now have nearly four months until I can start an NCB char. And, frankly, I'm bit bored with the musical chairs that is fighting in the upper levels. It feels like I'm not advancing anywhere with the char, just treading water.
So if Jack has really gone as far as he is going to go - unless the tanks sitting at the top all quit - what do I do for the next 3 months? I don't like forging so that's not an option. I don't want to quit after the work I've put in. But I need to keep it interesting if I want to stick around.
So help!!! Give me some ideas for what I could do with JC. Bear in mind that I don't want to spend huge amounts of cash because I want to save for the NCB char that I'm designing in my head. Which is why this isn't a contest just a discussion lol!
All ideas please, especially crazy strategy ideas involving enchantments that you may have wanted to try out but never got the chance. I'm bored, somebody help me!

Reconsider... Short term pain for long term gain.

Forging is my least favourite thing..... obviously would help build up the coffers but it's dull dull dull! Sorry, I would just rip off my own head with boredom!
Chuckles List Of Dumb Strategies I've Never Managed To Use
-----------------
Decay Archer -
Archer with decay, most likely on a four minion team.
Always wanted to get that to work... tried a few times but it's never been very effective.
Dodger Minion -
Instead of using a meatshield, just an absurdly good DX to dodge anything that comes at it.
The problem here is that it's only any good against tanks. I guess it could work though if you combine it with a mediocre HP and AMF.
Heavy Mage -
I doubt you haven't figured this out for yourself.
But it's actually very much cost effective to put heavy AC armor on a CoC mage. - More so than a corn or something.. but yes, you have to do it well, or you'll just end up with a wimpy mage.
My final equip for my char will hopefully be MC, HoD, CML, MS, AGs (slightly better than tulks) and CoI - Again, slightly better than SC.
I'll leave that one to you to figure out how to get it to work. But this is the one of my strategies that I've been most certain about it's success. And has been interesting enough to keep me occupied for quite a while.
UC tank.
Seriously, there aren't enough of these guys.
I have no idea how to get it to work, but you're smart, you'll figure it out.
And the final one is plain stupid, hence the reason I've wanted to get it to work for a long time now (and fail misserably every time I try it).
Single Enchanter.
:)
I hope you get some ideas from this lot. If not, well I just wasted twenty minutes writing this <.< And I'm now late for work... anyway, hope the strat ideas helped.

single enchanter can be used with a familiar ;)

Decay archer MrC? Has anyone managed to make that work yet? I've always wondered about that one.
The heavy mage is one I've tried - A naked ToE wall is nearly as good as a heavy AC wall. But with my mage being the only damage dealer I can't afford to lose him and the ToE on the mage works a lot better than AC I've found.
I can see you're thinking along the same lines as me with some of those suggestions though. Low cost, except on the brain power...
I think Decay archers were dropped here in favour of a CoC Archer. You could try that! :)
MrC! I've thought about a Single Enchanter! ;) It would have to have GA. The only problem would be killing opponents Enchanters! But a ToBF might make a nice addition!
(Shade, adding a familiar is just cheating!)

Single enchanter AMF+GA + TOJ has been tried out before..forgot who it was..but very effective. Well...only up to certain point of the game.
GA on two minons is silly, HP AMF/Haste would make a great tat holder for any offensive tat.
"Decay archer MrC? Has anyone managed to make that work yet? I've always wondered about that one."
Nope. Well, briefly at the start of CB2 when tattoos were waaay overpowered someone made one using a big ToJ, but no others that I know of.
"The heavy mage is one I've tried - A naked ToE wall is nearly as good as a heavy AC wall. But with my mage being the only damage dealer I can't afford to lose him and the ToE on the mage works a lot better than AC I've found."
I guarantee you that AC is better than a ToE on a 1 minion character.
On a four minion though I'm not sure (my bet is that AC is still better, but I can't be sure).
"I can see you're thinking along the same lines as me with some of those suggestions though. Low cost, except on the brain power..."
Lol, brain power? Yeah, I guess you're a bit behind, but you'll catch up eventually ;P
And Shade, a familiar kind of kills the point, doesn't it? ;)
"Single enchanter AMF+GA + TOJ has been tried out before..forgot who it was.."
Yes, Shiv's character Provocative Thoughts was excellent started that way, but it was riding a huge TOJ, back before the Max Tattoo. It's still a really good character, but it has more minions now...
Oh, but you want crazy enchantment strat, Johnnywas? Use Haste. ^.~

TTTT (sort of)
GS, AS, small dex on 3 of the minions
ToE, HP on the fourth
or maybe a mage shield and heavy armor
only fight mages
something along those lines..
i think it's viable but it would need a lot of tweaking and very careful selection of opponents.

try something without a tattoo.
now THAT would be crazy.
You mean try something without a tat that isn't an RoE, which would be silly.
It's like giving up a free 30% bonus to XP...
although, I think my nutbag cousin is still running a traditional Heavy tank (with MgS) I suggested a while back...he was having a blast with it. Personally, I'm still tempted by the the two minion RoE-HP/AMF/Haste Wearing dbs and a Heavy tank with Arch/HP/STR/Prot later moving to RoS and 4 minions. I think using a BoM and HoE with a BTh or ELS could produce amazing results, if you heavily focus on STr after getting the RoS, your STR score could be in the ridiculous, add a MM mage batting clean-up, and you could have most teams torn to shreads in ranged.

Look at my new character, completely free of tattoo of choice. I have been taking this path for a long time. And my score is still great at around 1.2mil. I like it..i think with huge Dex and Huge TOE (USD of course) i might be able to go somewhere with this. And of course axbow.

I have made my point
The Slayers defeated Oduten (ETBU) after 4 rounds of combat
Wonderful world of tattoo free.

Odd strat You, be glad I stopped playing Mikel Jr as my main character anymore. You are very weak vs Tanks. I guess your goal is to be a Mage Killer.

Your strategy is MGS x2...
Just tried you again, the two MGS doesn't seem to be changing much for you. Perhaps MGS x3?

If you think about it, the dodger minion and the UC-tank are the same. UC, with it's inherent Evasion , and with the right equipment, doesn't do much damage but dodges very much. Also, along with a high trained DX, it's quite easy to get triple hits with. A pure DX-HP-minion would just be silly, when you can do 'some' damage whilst having a big evasion as well.

You,
I'd watch that strat - the AMF works wonders on mages but your tank is too wimpy for words. You'll end up with a lot of stalemates.
I'd put the RoE on the tank and build up some of those muscles....

You's tank is too small to do any real damage imo :)

it should be able to do plenty of damage to mages and some of the other mixed teams but yeah real tanks should have no worries agianst YOU.
