Farm characters still viable? (in General)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 20 2005 7:33 PM EST

Hi all, rares go so cheaply now I've started shopping around an aim aiming to pick up stuff for pitance (compared to what they used to cost..). Well, so far I've scored a BoM! ;)

I'm considering creating some farm characters and outfitting them with these cheap rares, but I've held off due to a CB2 change I remember, but can't find any evidence of..

I'm sure battle rewards were changed so that defenders only gained cash/xp rewards when they won. If so, Farm characters are not quite as appealng...

Is this correct, or something I've just imagined?

i think that might be right, because i don't see increases in the $ or xp on my other char very often at all.

that kinda stinks, though, because why can't my main character get rewards when it draws and loses? just b/c of some farms? c'mon! farms are important, they give smaller players something to fight, what if everybody only had their main, what about all the little noobs?

See Help > Battles:

"Your Minions get experience both when defending and when attacking. The winner gets more experience than the loser; losing defenders get nothing."

Yeah, that's how it worked in CB1, but I'm sure I remember a CB2 change... That's why there's not many farms.

I just can't find any evidence of a change.. :(

GL, the quite above is from CB2. It has always been like that in CB2, which is why there was no changelog on the topic.

There's a change log for it in CB1 though.

Mael, not to be pedantic, the 'Help' section also lists tournaments. It's not 100% accurate for CB2.

But, I've now got a reason to dust of my CB1 account! :)

I think it works the same way it worked in CB1: like Maelstrom said. The characters just don't get attacked (and win) enough. I've put all my characters in my clan and they make some nice cash, due to the extra attacking. It's not much, but at least it's something ;p

worth it: no.

Starseed^Lure November 21 2005 10:23 AM EST

no, not a chance. Farms got nerfed to oblivion. It seems you will gain more money selling a character than you will leaving a farm for years to collect. It's too bad, because I considered farm design an art form in CB1 and enjoyed it a lot.
