do most people retire their main character when they start a NCB character because they want the BA cost to be cheaper? because, i don't know if i want to retire Flip when i do NCB later, and since BA will be so expensive anyway, i don't know if i really will be buying it.
comments?

You can always retire flip and try out the NCB. Flip can be unretired 4 days after it has been retired.

Yes, the usually retire their main character at the time for both cheaper BA costs and a higher BA regeneration.

but i thought that if you actively play a lower character your BA regeneration rate goes up to reflect that. in fact, i could have sworn that when i started my tiny guy farm that i have going, and i used a couple dozen BA on it, i regenerated a shot of 10 BA, when my usual regen rate is 8.

But your BA costs are based on the largest char's MPR, at the NCB's cost.

When I started my NCB character, I didn't retire my larger character, but I wish I had. Regen rate for the NCB character was 10/10, and the BA purchase cost started off higher than it had been for my 400k MPR normal character, but the amount of BA I could purchase was determined by the higher character. For instance, my larger character could buy 576 BA (with 8/10 regen rate), but I would have been able to buy more if the character was retired.

i was under the impression that BA cost stayed the same wether or not you retired your main character...

Your BA costs and BA regen are based on your highest MPR character.
If you have the NCB, the BA costs are then multiplied by the NCB + 1.
IE: NCB of 170% means your BA costs will be 2.7 times normal for the exact same MPR without the NCB.
This is, of course, as I understand it and my certainly be incorrect.

I guess that paragraph was hard to follow, so here is what I said, in point form:
- BA regen rate is based on active character.
- BA purchase cost is the highest cost out of all of your characters.
- Total buyable BA is the least amount out of all of your characters.

Ranger, I may be the ubernoob compared to you, but i think that BA regen is based on what character you are using the most. If you create a new character and play them a lot, without retiring TAB, then i am sure that you would get a regen of 10/10 again. i got 10/10 when i played a new character for a couple regen cycles (before i moved back to using my original character).

Boots,
That was a bug some people exploited. But Jon fixed it. Now it is not possible to get more BA if you have a higher MPR character than that character would get. No matter which character you play most.

Sorry,
Your right about the BA regeneration rate.

One set of BA regen will be at the lower characters rate, then it will fix it's self and go back to the lower BA rate.
