Proxy Disallowed (in General)

When I try to connect to CB2 today from home, I get an error message:

Proxy Disallowed

To prevent cheating, access to CB via open proxy is disallowed. You must connect directly with your real IP (or via an institutional proxy).

Carnage Blender uses the Blitzed Open Proxy Monitor. If you believe your IP is incorrectly marked as an open proxy, see their removal instructions on this page.

I followed the instructions, but the interface for removal claims that my IP address "has never been in our blacklist nor has it been submitted for scanning."

I am not using a proxy. I am on a static IP address through a firewall doing NAT.

I can VPN into my office and connect through there. I was online yesterday afternoon with no problems. Any ideas?

On CB1, HellBender is reporting that the same thing is happening to him on CB2. Only he cannot connect from work (reported at 4:20PM yesterday), but it is working from home.

perhaps a new recent filter Jonathan installed?

or perhaps check your firewall if it does funny things?

Maybe that guy that spams NON-PG stuff was going through a similar type of proxy and this is to counter that?

blitzed mis-reported some IPs as open proxies. CB only checks IPs once every cache flush, so when this happens just wait until the next day and you'll be fine.

or you can panic. it's up to you. :)

FYI, to those looking for them:

As of cache flush, Special J is back (he showered during his day off). However, it seems that Gender Bender and Vaynard are now "proxy disallowed".

That proxy checker does not work correctly. No open proxy here, IP is not on OPM/Spamhaus proxy list.
