Is there any other game like this. (in Off-topic)

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] December 11 2005 2:01 PM EST

I have looked and cant seem to find one so if anyone knows of a game just like this one tell me I want to try some other games like this.

Maelstrom December 11 2005 2:10 PM EST

There aren't any - this is the best.

AdminShade December 11 2005 2:55 PM EST

There have been rumors on a better game similar to this one, called Carnage Blender 1.

There have also been false rumors of similar other games but people always returned to this game :)

Amen to that. I tried FlyForFun and quickly dropped it. Try to ask a question there and 9 times out of 10 you will just be ignored. The other 10% of the time you will be assaulted with racist epithets. Good times. Long live CB!!

Don't listen to the rumors that Shade is pretending not to spread. All that's left of the ancient civilization of Carnage Blender 1 are dusty fossils and the crumbling ruins of once-great monuments.

But even in shambles, it is better than all the competition - except for CB2.

RatherShady, don't be mean to flyff it's very nice, it's no carnageblender, but it's nice. <.< >.>

If there is another game like this, i hope that i never find it. i spend way too much time on this as it is. =P

Isn't CB just Battlefaeries with fewer, er, faeries?

Bootsanator December 11 2005 8:43 PM EST

i just googled Battlefaeries and i think it is broken/closed down/something. i'd never heard of it before reading this thread.
/me shrugs.

Thraklight Resonance December 11 2005 11:32 PM EST

Battlefairies has been closed down for over two years (something to do with the programmer getting married and having a kid or two, like that really happens to game programmers in real life). :-) The game was taken over by scripts near the end, too, so thank Jon for all those bot checks.

The only thing that battlefaeries had that was really interesting that CB1 lacked when I came in 2002 was clans and the ability to bench minions, err, faeries, and/or change the lineup. Oh, and five faeries instead of just four minions. Janek was working on creating a structured world where players could travel from one text-described location to another, including areas controlled by specific clans, and you could only pass into some areas by defeating a clan champion, but battlefaeries closed down shortly after the structured world appeared.

This game is the best there is; my complements to Johnathan and the rest of the administrators who run this game it is really an impressive display you have running here.

yah its a great game

FsL-masta December 13 2005 3:27 PM EST

I believe cb1 is still better then cb2

AdminShade December 13 2005 3:35 PM EST

Lies, all lies!

This game is just a fragment of your imagination, it doesn't really exist!

AdminG Beee December 13 2005 5:26 PM EST

Battlefaeries, the day that died I mourned and believed a generation of text based games was gone forever.

I was wrong because Jon saved us all :)

Battlefaeries trivia:
Battlefaeries Turbo (the BF equivalent of CB2) never got off the ground despite the work put in by the developers and multiple announcements made to us at the time :/
The designers of the game are Scottish and met at Edinburgh University.

ROLE_PLAYING_GAME is pretty much the best game ever made. But don't take my word for it.

runescape > cb....

Rathershady December 13 2005 8:53 PM EST

If you want the Independent Games Festival has posted its finalists. Check out this site for some cool independent games to try out.

Thraklight Resonance December 13 2005 10:16 PM EST

Yes, G Beee, I remember stumbling in here after the original battlefaeries went down for conversion into BFT, and I only went back for brief visits and to form clan carnage in an attempt to lure other players to CB1. For some reason, that clan kept disappearing between my infrequent visits.

We got VsCountStrum here on the "come to carnage and become an admin" offer. I'm still trying to track down Bill Longley and convince him to visit.

Somebody _please_ find a 'game like this' so the amazingly-fixated Matchsticks and CrackMonkey can find something else to do!

StewLin December 14 2005 10:11 AM EST

There's the Annihilation X game, it's a game like Carnage Blender but set in the future. The address for the site is: www.annihilationx.com

Gender Bender December 14 2005 1:14 PM EST

there's 2 other games I play which are quite fun and somewhat the same style of game:

www.hobowars.com
www.torncity.com

let me know if anyone decides to start playing any of these games I can help you out!
