1 bot check fail = suspended? (in General)

QBPixel Sage December 19 2005 5:29 AM EST

It says 2 strikes and you're out. I'm pretty sure I only failed one bot check, and I only saw one. A bug?

Of course, I acknowledge that it is possible that I just wasn't looking carefully enough.

Oh well, just in time. I'm going to sleep anyways :)

Perhaps you failed the 2 minute timer, which counts as a 2 strikes and you're out.

Did you hit the enter key twice? I did that several times before and I got suspended :p

You answered 'soup' to both of them...

Special J December 19 2005 5:35 AM EST

No, you missed two.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 19 2005 5:48 AM EST

hasn't this been coming up an awful lot lately?
is it just me?
Situations seem oddly similar (two bot checks answered the same wrong way)

AdminShade December 19 2005 5:51 AM EST

Some people are impatient and click 2 times after another, hard to say but their problem.

Other often made error is going to a different page and forgetting about the bot check.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 19 2005 5:53 AM EST

isn't the JS popup there to prevent the second click through?
how does the text box get filled with an identical answer then they are just clicking through?

AdminShade December 19 2005 5:55 AM EST

no because on both occasions you have 3 or 4 letters typed in the field, and thus accepting the entry of the check.

Special J December 19 2005 5:55 AM EST

If they click before the page fully loads the warning will not show.

Filling out two botchecks incorrectly is not a game issue, solved by slowing down and reading them.

QBPixel Sage December 19 2005 2:24 PM EST

Hmm... maybe I should turn off autofill for CB. That should solve the problem :)

Soup? What the??? *musta been hungry*

Bummer :(

Hyrule Castle [Defy] December 19 2005 10:30 PM EST

how about 3 strikes your out :D, instead of this 2

MrC [DodgingTheEvilForgeFees] December 20 2005 12:09 AM EST

3 would make it much easier to create a bot to pass them.

That being said, I know nothing about bots. Just good old plain and simple logic there.

AdminShade December 20 2005 1:49 AM EST

3 tries makes it far more easy for a bot to just guess
