Now that CB1 is done (in Off-topic)

dj1914 December 27 2005 9:32 PM EST

Lets keep this on the humor side. Please nominate 4 people from CB1(that you can remember) to carry the CB1 coffin to be laid to rest and give a short reason why you picked that person.

QBRanger December 27 2005 9:34 PM EST

Freed

Apocypitica (sp?)

Jayuu

Dyno

All Corporate International clan members who ruled cb1.

I hope I remembered all of them correctly.

(CB1)logan666 [Jago] December 27 2005 9:36 PM EST

Wldflr
Sefton
Wildthing
Shade

Having not really played cb1 in the last few months those are the names off the top of my head.

Revs December 27 2005 9:36 PM EST

BC Moto, I think that's a given.
Wldflr and Sefton, for all they contributed to the community.
And you dj1914 for dominating the camping the entire time I was there.

All of the people listed, set the benchmarks in the game and gave every player something to define themselves by. So they would get my vote.

Bmagnety December 27 2005 9:36 PM EST

you forgot BCMoto

dj1914 December 27 2005 9:38 PM EST

I pick Saint, Sefton, Shabbleflab and Monty. The first 3 for keeping me on my toes while camping and Monty well for being Monty.

Gothicknight December 27 2005 9:39 PM EST

Myself
Badash
Jon
Saint

Those the only i really remember hmm me cause i am that cool. EGO boost!!!

Max December 27 2005 9:40 PM EST

Badash lol heh

[EG]Charnakra December 27 2005 9:46 PM EST

Well, aside from the fact that I think it blows, some names off the top of my head would be:

Saint
Stump
Todd
Ellis
Myth
Baal
Lump
Truck
. . .

wldflr December 27 2005 9:49 PM EST

I nominate all the people who continued to play CB1 faithfully after CB2 was introduced. The people who hung in there and recognized the game for the great game it was.

[EG]Charnakra December 27 2005 10:12 PM EST

By the number of active players in clans, and those you could see in the recent battles lists, there were well over 60 players still active, and that's likely a low estimate.

QBJohn Birk [Black Cheetah Bazaar] December 27 2005 10:22 PM EST

For me its:

Saint, because he and MrsDi started it (for me)
Todd, because he owned it
Sut, because he knew it
and BC, Freed, wldflr, and tempist because after it was closed they carried it

In the end CB1 was a great game start to finish.

Xiaz on Hiatus December 27 2005 10:22 PM EST

There are/were too many good players on CB1 past and present to choose from. CB may be a good game, but the community (esp. on CB1) really made it a superb game.

But what's done is done, CB1 is gone and now CB2 stand.

Thraklight Resonance December 27 2005 10:34 PM EST

Sutekh
Todd
Roonie
VsCountStrum
NSFY
Gender Bender

G Beee, Saint, and Stump will be in charge of alcohol if we hold a wake.
Lady Di and Mushu will lay the flowers at the grave site.
Grant and Ellis will read from the book of carnage.
Destluck and Fitty will shout "change it back" but get carped by every chat op and admin at the service.

Sukotto [lookingglas] December 27 2005 10:57 PM EST

I pick:
Mushu
TheSaint
Sutekh
Mythology

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 27 2005 11:00 PM EST

Jon (it was his baby after all)
and three green eared nubs from here

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] December 28 2005 1:40 AM EST

Wldflr
Sefton
BCMoto
The Ghost of all retired CB1'ers

[SIBT]Gardiner Amarth December 28 2005 1:58 AM EST

BCMoto
Jayuu
Jonathan
Stump

And that's about it.

MrC [DodgingTheEvilForgeFees] December 28 2005 2:22 AM EST

CB1 People?

Well, I haven't played since a week or two after CB2 came out. But if I have to pick four people.

Saint - Bestest super cool admin.

MrsDi - Duh

Myth - He somehow managed to have an impact on the game despite being de-admined (and I think de-oped) add in a forum ban there and it's a pretty darn good effort to be a 'household' name.

Sutekh - I was hoping Red Dwarf would beat Spid... he ended up getting beaten, but the threads from his time at the top was still my CB education.

MrC [DodgingTheEvilForgeFees] December 28 2005 2:24 AM EST

Oh an Pegz, Teq, Moose, Max, Wildthing, Timberwolf, the other dude who's name I don't remember, Shade, Sefton, wldflr, Slayer and of course, lumpbot.

Sorry, I know you said 4, but I couldn't resist. :)

5583 days old {Gaza} December 28 2005 4:20 AM EST

/\88/\ for todd was nothing without him
Lump for creating lumpbot and first qb IIRC
Myth for being the greatest strategist in cb
Abitjaded for being the greatest camper in cb

{cb1}dyno December 28 2005 5:23 AM EST

Wldflr - Although people will argue that MrsDi did what wld did at the end of cb1 for longer, wld truly put her heart and soul into every friendship she made on cb1. Whether it was something regarding the game, or you were having a bad day and needed to talk about it, wld was always there for you. One of the purest people I've ever met, and her caringness and strong drive truly made cb1 a warmer place.

BCMoto - Cannot say enough about this guy. First of all I'm biased because he's a firefighter, which is a position I might respect more than any other. And the care and dedication to others was something that he took from outside the game and brought it in. Moto-san was, in a sense, my cb1 daddy =). I'd go to him for strat advice and we'd talk for an hour or so. Although he was one of the strongest characters in the game (a 400 AC set AND a 392 AC set? Two x27 Bows? WOW!), he never put himself on a pedestal, and played the game with a class that most elite competitors in games, sports, or anything else for that matter could only wish to have. /me bows to Moto-san.

Jayuu - Jayuu was a machine. Old schoolers will argue that Spid was the powerhouse of cb1 because he did it longer and when there was more competition, but the fact that jayuu didn't let people quitting stop him from putting in his hard work and making an indestructible character (30000+ win streak to end the era of Kronos) is truly admirable.

Freed - It truly took cb1 shutting down to stop this guy. Most people would quit after making a x28 bow after spending A LOT of usd, only to have it buggy and useless. Throw the maker of the game saying "people still play cb1?" when a request was made to fix the bug, and it makes his determination that much more admirable. Freed was at 1.6 billion NW when the game ended if I recall correctly, and was a top 4 character with Zenai/Moto/Jayuu. He was very generous as well, always looking to give a lower player a deal (including myself). Although cb1 was always at risk for being shut down, he never let this stop his aggression in building the best armor and weapons that money could buy.

I know that a lot will argue that I'm not taking into consideration the old school players, but if I died tomorrow, I wouldn't want a friend that abandoned me for a newer "better" friend carrying my casket. Cheers to Wldflr/Moto/Freed/Jayuu, and for that matter, the rest of the cb1'rs, for you truly played for the love of the game.

Josh [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 28 2005 2:47 PM EST

deathwake December 28 2005 8:42 PM EST

Well I'm going with "Lets keep this on the humor side." That in mind i can only think of two names.

Monty
CrackMonkey

Enough said.

MrC [DodgingTheEvilForgeFees] December 29 2005 3:07 AM EST

Lol! Monty.

How could we forget? :)

QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] December 30 2005 8:23 PM EST

i would say Saint, Di, Moto and Wldflr, because they were always there for us through thick and thin, especially wldflr who should get the honor gaurd position

{CB1}Bio December 30 2005 8:33 PM EST

Gun-He was my mentor. Gave me a x13 shortbow my first day and i thought he was god. He always treated me well and still does.

Wldflr-Although weve had our missunderstandings and all; she has always been there for me and always been a loving person. And well shes from the south so i have to nominate her :-p

Sefton-He was a great person. Let me in as a noob to one of the top clans. Also was a great poet and didnt know it(hey it rhymed)

Conan-He was the only person i ever wanted to be like in the game. His char and equiptment were just what i wanted to become. I always wanted to be just like him.

PirateKing December 31 2005 1:40 AM EST

I nominate myself... mostly because I am shallow and self centered. ;)

Oh yeah.. I'm a shameless attention whore too. :D

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] December 31 2005 6:55 AM EST

/me gives another vote for PK just so he doesn't feel completely selfish :)
NSFY
Myth
Beren
The last two because no matter how heavy the load gets they just keep going (those who can remember the notoriety of those two and myself will get this :) )

Xiaz on Hiatus December 31 2005 7:16 AM EST

My nominies are:

Bob - nice bloke.
Sam - terrific guy.
Tim - smashing fella'.
Pat - awesome dude.

Shark December 31 2005 10:14 AM EST
