im just curious and want to know. for me it was a long and hard search.
it started when i wanted to go back to runescape but the library got new computers which disallowed runescape to work.
i looked for games like it but it looked liked no games that had graphics would work.after an hour i found CB it looked good (despite the name)
i found out it was very complex and was a challenge so i stuck to it even if i could only play an hour a day.
thats my story of finding CB :)
i looked over my shoulder in my school library at someone showing CB off to their friends trying to get them to sign up under their name. So i thought i would see what the game was all about.

I was introduced to CB1 by my friend Jonathan K.. He even let me have his executioner's sword and told me NOT to lose it. Oops, lost it a few days ago =P
Anyways, I forgot what brought me back to play CB2. Maybe Jonathan (CB2 author) is wearing a Tattoo of LureBackOldPlayers. TOLBOP

A classmate showed it me when we had a class involving PCs. I just looked at his monitor and was curious. Used to play another game called Dominion and got bored of it because I had been playing it for 4 years already. Tried it and soon became addicted and here I am :)

I believe it was Stephen that ran an ad for CB1 a year and a half ago on
Fark.
I clicked the ad, and have been playing since then.
It was listed on Yahoo. This was nearly 4 years ago though, so I don't know if or where it can be found still. My friend pointed me to the list and this game. He never got into it as much as me. Oh well.
my friend and I go on "game hunts" every once in a while, something to keep us interested :P
Cb1 was one of the very few games that have held my interest for a long time (and Cb2, to a lesser extent)
TopWebGames link exchange, which my friend's site rpg-free.com participated in. CB dominated the exchange in popularity.

I first found CB through a link at MPOGD.com I used to have some screenshots of how the game used to look back then,(January of 2002) but have lost the cd on which they were stored.

I cant remember the exact terms I searched for, but I believe I searched google for something like "free RPG web text" or something like that. That was after Planetarion went to pay-only and I stopped playing. having to pay money to lose sleep was a wake-up call for me, so to speak.
I would recommend Planetarion only if you already are the type to never miss a single BA, because when you get farmed, you lose progress in the game. here it's just CP's that you lose, not MPR.

Followed Max's ad on Fark.com
Like Timberwolf followed a Fark.com ad around a year and a half ago.
I'm yet another Farker who joined during the summer of 2004.
I found it on MPOGD.com in October 2002 while looking for RPG's, played it for a while without getting help from others and found the strategy I wanted to use, luckily I was never the type to try make a mage enchanter tank(same minion like a lot of newbs do before they are told not to ;)) back then :P

Saw it on FARK.
Fark ad by Stephen I think.
I was searching for "economic simulations/game theory" for an academic project and somehow was steered towards CB2. I had no desire to get involved an another computer game (I thought I was cured!) but now I am here to stay.
For a long time I had a really old crappy computer, the most advanced game it coudl run was Diablo II... When I started getting bored of that and was unable to play any of the newer games on my old and weary comp (and being then unable to buy a new one as I was saving to get married) one of the DII websites I frequented had a forum devoted to other games. CB was mentioned in a free RPG thread, I tried the tutorial and was hooked! :D

I heard about it from a friend known as fire71 from CB1 when we were both getting tired of the text game we had been playing for a while. I originally didn't plan to begin to play CB, but further along he kept telling me about how he liked it, so I tried it, and, well, the rest fell into place.

A former classmate of mine, Seraphx, told me about CB in August 2004, and I've been an addict since. Unfortunately, he quit shortly after CB2 came out...

My brother introduced me, and he stopped playing before i did.
was walking by the doorway of my roommate Karn's room (it was actually open) and wondered what he was doing. "Killing time" he said and I thought "I could do that to instead of doing homework".
I was trying to find other information on Battlefaeries while it was down and googled the quote "Is this the new battlefaeries?" one afternoon. I followed it into the forums, created an account, and stayed.
Jon must have been asked that question quite a few times since Battlefaeries is capable of making it past the spellcheck. :-)

googled rpg looking for specs on anti tank rounds used as IADs in Iraq.
Good old Vampire King turned me onto the game back in February of 2004...been loving it ever since.
I was wandering around the web and ended up here. Now I'm a firm CB-Addict.

I got sick of watching my boyfriend play all the time, he and our friends would often engage in long conversations of which I couldn't understand.
It has improved our communication though since I joined ;)
