Random Freetime CB2 Banners (in General)

Yay.

Vaynard [Fees Dirt Cheap] January 3 2006 1:17 AM EST

Dang dude, nice! Makes me want to make a website just so I can advertise CB now!

AdminShade January 3 2006 1:45 AM EST

Why is there an 'anti drug' notice there quite 'present' ?

Know Jonathan is quite anti drugs but didn't know it was a statement for the game itself... ?!

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] January 3 2006 2:01 AM EST

The game is an anti-drug, like it is anger therapy (unless, of course, you require Xanax to get through the boards).

They're wonderful(!), except there must be a more lively verb than "become"? The "become awesome" begs to be something more carnag-ey.

AdminShade January 3 2006 2:06 AM EST

get awesome?

QBPixel Sage January 3 2006 2:10 AM EST

Be awesome?

Halcyon January 3 2006 2:40 AM EST

Simply: pwn

Maelstrom January 3 2006 8:13 AM EST

As I've mentioned before, CB seems more like a drug than an "anti drug".

Does clicking down-Enter repeatedly actually relieve anger? Incredible.

Time killer? Absolutely.

... no comment on the last one. I don't get it :S

Tezmac January 3 2006 10:16 AM EST

Great job pixel, those are awesome!! Ignore the nay-sayers, I'd like to see any of them do better. They probably were the ones that made the graphic on the front page. **snicker**

QBPixel Sage January 4 2006 2:26 AM EST

Thanks for the comments people. Here's another random variation:

AdminShade January 4 2006 5:04 AM EST

only comment on that last one is that the big CB isn't too clear, text covers the B a bit too much...

but still looks good :)

AdminG Beee January 4 2006 5:28 AM EST

Everyone's a critic...

I think in general they look great with my only comment being to drop the "anti drug" reference. I'd also make a note of the community and suggest rather than the "be/become awesome" reference you enter something to highlight the people interaction aspect. "awesome community" ??

As with Shade I think the CB on the last image is difficult to read as it looks more like CR - perhaps a tilt in the opposite direction in order not to over type the "B" may help?

Maelstrom January 4 2006 9:55 AM EST

As Valiek said, maybe replace "be awesome" with "pwn" (though I'm not really "up" on that sort of trendy net speak...)

Definitely make some comment on the community - that's the most important part of the game.

What about something like the old banners: "make new friends and kill them".

Or how about: "Kill time, kill your friends"?

AdminShade January 4 2006 9:58 AM EST

Mael, those remarks are beautiful, thats what we need for those banners.

Become awesome is so nothing saying but

"Make new friends and kill them"

"Kill time, kill your friends"

are such great one liners for this game !!!

BlueWolf January 4 2006 11:07 AM EST

can i save those and advertise those??

i would have the picture, then under it, write:

CREATED BY OUR VERY OWN PIXELSAGE, DEDICATED PLAYER AND SUPPORTER TO OUR CARNAGE BLENDER SYSTEM.

how about that?

Sukotto [lookingglas] January 4 2006 2:02 PM EST

My first (and still fav) tag line...

CarnageBlender.com.
Free online RPG. Make new friends, then kill them

QBPixel Sage January 4 2006 7:03 PM EST

I'll take note of those comments. One liners may actually be quite a bit more effective...

We should start a "Help Advertise" page in the wiki.

AdminShade January 27 2006 11:59 AM EST

Any chance at the banners you made in this thread to have the changes mentioned to them?

- remove the anti drug / anger therapy / time killer / become awesome thing and putting in the one liners?

if you would, then i'd want to use them

CmdrHawkeye January 27 2006 12:31 PM EST

Very nice they could use that banner in those commercials.
