[DoH]Link [Defenders of Hyrule] January 12 2006 8:41 PM EST

whats your favorite favorite game?mines Zelda

Xiaz on Hiatus January 12 2006 8:42 PM EST

Starcraft: Brood Wars is my favourite, though I don't play it no more. :P

Carnage Blender is also another favourite :)

MaLicious [Ascendancy] January 12 2006 8:53 PM EST

Carnage Blender :)

Vaynard [Fees Dirt Cheap] January 12 2006 9:09 PM EST

It's a two way tie for me. Either Final Fantasy Tactics for Playstation, or New Horizons on Sega Genesis. Both were great and easily could be my favorite game of all time. Of course CB is great, but just not my absolute favorite.

Blackheart January 12 2006 9:13 PM EST

last time i checked CB was not a video game. my favorite game right now is DoA 4

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] January 12 2006 9:22 PM EST

Carnage Blender 1

Final Fantasy 8 before that.

Stephen January 12 2006 9:28 PM EST

Fallout
Outcast
Half Life 1 and 2
Deus Ex
Total Annihilation
Elite

Desperado [Chaotic Serenity] January 12 2006 9:34 PM EST

FF8 was cool. Marvel vs Capcom 2 for xbox is my all time favorite though.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] January 12 2006 9:44 PM EST

FF8 all time favorite

I also liked Star Ocean: Till Then End of Time

/me likes slayers taste

Undertow January 12 2006 9:47 PM EST

FF VIII is the worst piece of crap ever to be unleashed upon the unsuspecting masses. I bought it the night it came out, what a waste of $50. I could puke on a disc pop it in my playstation and have more fun.

Final Fantasy tactics. I've bought 3 copies, and thousands of hours later, I can still get wrapped up in it for months.

Halcyon January 12 2006 9:48 PM EST

I can relate to FFT

Sukotto [lookingglas] January 12 2006 9:49 PM EST

My current favorite is Grand Theft Auto 2, which you can get for free from Rockstar. There's just something about the flame thrower that just makes my day when I'm feeling stressed.

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] January 12 2006 9:57 PM EST

Quake 3 and Half-Life 1 multiplayer on a LAN.
Elite was great until my spectrum decided it wasn't going to save anymore.
And thanks to Stephen for reminding me, Total Annihilation was awesome.

QBOddBird January 12 2006 10:00 PM EST

Pixelships. Google it. You won't regret it, I promise.

QBPixel Sage January 12 2006 10:02 PM EST

Did someone say pixel? Pixels! Awesome.

Anyways, Starcraft: BW has been at the top of my list for years, and I still play it with my friends occasionally. The FF games rock too, FF7 being the only one I ever actually finished... unless FFT counts too =D

{CB1}Carp King January 12 2006 10:16 PM EST

FF VII Best of all time, followed by............. Scorched Earth. Yes its old but I still love it, and I'm still looking for a good version that I can play on my PC thats free.

Hyrule Castle [Defy] January 12 2006 10:42 PM EST

definately these ones
Zelda a link to the past
star ocean
FF tactics for playstation

all 3 are really good, and fun

Jokers2587 January 12 2006 11:04 PM EST

my favorite all time game is the original 007 for nintendo 64, Goldeneye, and the 2nd all time favorite would have to be Halo 1 for xbox. I'm a 1st person shooter gamer.

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] January 12 2006 11:06 PM EST

heh, 4 player Goldeneye on 1 TV was fun.

{CB1}[umk]Fangs January 12 2006 11:06 PM EST

I'd have to say FF VII and Diablo 2

Chorlton January 13 2006 12:26 AM EST

Gotta agree with Borderliner here Elite was truly an amazing game.

curudan January 13 2006 12:49 AM EST

Chrono Trigger!!! Without a doubt the best video game ever made! EVER! 2:FFVI! 3:Lufia II! 4:Seiken Densetsu (Even Though i have not won it yet) 5:Empire Earth (Even Though It really is not a video game) 6:Gundamn Wing Endless Duel (better than street fighter IMHO)

Halcyon January 13 2006 12:55 AM EST

Lemme actually switch mine to FFXI

QBsutekh137 January 13 2006 1:00 AM EST

Doom.

TrueDevil [AAA] January 13 2006 1:19 AM EST

I think if I played the game long enough, it could be considered as my favourite so...
1. Ragnarok Online (3 years+)
2. Diablo 2 (1 1/2 years+)
3. Lufia 1 (14 x replay, from beginning to end)
4. Lufia 2 (9 x replay, from beginning to end)
5. CB 1 and 2, total of almost 2 years playing now.

Currently playing and it's soon to become my favourite : Shin Megami Tensei 3 : Nocturne.

Timberwolf January 13 2006 1:25 AM EST

I can't even begin to count the hours/days I lost playing 007 Goldeneye at a friends house.
One of the best multi-player games ever.

Chorlton January 13 2006 1:31 AM EST

I just remembered a game I played for years on the old atari's called Alternate Reality. There was no ending so you could never finish it:)

maulaxe January 13 2006 2:06 AM EST

@ linkthehero : which zelda?

nethack (unfortunately I'm not oldschool enough not to use nethackW)
Civilization 2

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] January 13 2006 2:52 AM EST

Awesome, no one said mine....

1. ToeJam and Earl ***1*** (2 and 3 sucked....omg)
2. FF7
3. Counter-Strike
4. Tyrants (very rare game for sega genesis, along with ToeJam and Earl 1)

QBPixel Sage January 13 2006 2:55 AM EST

Of course, within a few years when my team is done making our game, everyone will be saying "Project Aqua is the BEST GAME EVER!". I'll be rich and retire before I graduate from art school, and invest all my money into CB and become invincible with over 477 AC on each character, then become poor and work at Taco Bell for the rest of my life.

/rant

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] January 13 2006 4:10 AM EST

Lets see my Favorites? Umm.... Super Metroid for SNES Final Fantasy Tactics for PS Final Fantasy X for PS2 Goldeneye 007 For N64 and of course CB2 for Comp

QBJohnnywas January 13 2006 4:20 AM EST

Wow, Elite. I haven't thought about that game in a long long time...

AdminG Beee January 13 2006 4:54 AM EST

I don't think I've ever gotten into another video game as much as I did with the Baldur's Gate series. Many many hours in front of the PC and countless nights of too little sleep.

The days of Missile Command on the Atari will always be something I look back at with a smile while I remember my teenage years and the evenings spent gathered around the black and white portable TV with a load of my friends, junk food and fizzy drinks.

AdminShade January 13 2006 5:22 AM EST

Final Fantasy
Baldur's Gate
Unreal Tournament.

those are all on a shared #1 for me.

IndependenZ January 13 2006 5:34 AM EST

Well, I used to have so much fun with GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo64! Killing three good friends never got boring!

I loved the Red Alert-series too though. And Black & White, man that was a great game! If I had enough cash to buy a new pc to be able to play the sequel, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Nowadays, my actual favorite video game must be Gran Turismo 4. Now that's a real driving simulator. =D

RAMPAGE January 13 2006 5:42 AM EST

CB1
MOO2
Civilization
Bejeweled2

{cb1}dyno January 13 2006 6:10 AM EST

quake 3 probably consumed the most of my time, enjoyed that game immensely. I do play quake 4 now, and mostly spend my time on this game and Battlefield 2. If anyone plays battlefield 2 or q3/q4 and would like to frag together let me know! :)

Caedmon [Revenge of the Forgers] January 13 2006 10:46 AM EST

pong. So mad we sold our console.

chappy [Soup Ream] January 13 2006 10:55 AM EST

Anyone like the Sega Saturn? I see a lot of FF Tactics support (as there should be) .. but before FFT, the world of strategy RPG was ruled by SHINING FORCE 3!!!

I too spent countless hours on FF7, FF8 (hey the card game WAS cool), Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and even Persona when I could stand it :P

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] January 13 2006 11:09 AM EST

Yes the card game was literally the only decent thing about FF8, such a disappointment especially on the summoning and magic parts.
Sega Saturn was the reason Sega started losing domination of the market, was nowhere near the standards of the Mega Drive.
I'm currently playing GTA:LCS to death but probably my favourite game has to be Rock 'n' Roll racing for the Sega Mega Drive, was so easy to get addicted.

Bootsanator January 13 2006 3:08 PM EST

only one vote for chrono trigger? come on!

i don't know what my favorites are, but I like chrono trigger, generally most RPG's I enjoy, especially the SNES ones, good stuff. Civilization rocks, I haven't gotten Civ IV yet, but that's basically because I don't want to flunk out of college b/c I play civ too much :P maybe i'll get it for my bday (in may).

I don't beat games very often, i get bored and switch. that's a reason why i try not to buy them very often anymore. :P

There are many more that I enjoy, most of the ones listed by others, but some not listed that are fun are Morrowind and Sacred.

geez, i could go on and on...i better not. i gotta go play some of these games now :P
first order of business: beat a SNES RPG other than chrono trigger (although, i haven't seen all of those endings yet :P).
and, go!

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] January 13 2006 3:17 PM EST

Oh yea Morrowind, what a game, the screenshots for the new one look fantastic.

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] January 13 2006 4:00 PM EST

Morrowind will be debated between gamers for cenuries as to whether it was good or bad.
The idea of an open RPG was good, the fact that it was as open as it was and the way to get stats turned out quite poor in my opinion (starting to sound why GTA:San Andreas was nearly as bad as Vice City). You can always have too much of a good thing, Morrowind did that, too much space.

Adminedyit [Superheros] January 13 2006 4:17 PM EST

These are my favorites the entire Legacy of Kaine series and both Blood Rayne games for PS2. :)

Tyra January 13 2006 5:23 PM EST

1: Fallout 1,2, Tactics
2: Planescape Torment

3: Diablo 1,2
4: Warcraft 2,3

th00p January 13 2006 6:02 PM EST

Quake 3 was god to me, I was more addicted to that than to this. I used to play 1.16 but got away when people left for 1.32, trick jumping, and finally left when Quake 4 came out. God do I miss it ='(

[DoH]Link [Defenders of Hyrule] January 13 2006 6:26 PM EST

man im the only Zelda vote come on BlueWolf get up here!!!

SNK3R January 13 2006 6:38 PM EST

NES: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Battletoads, Mega Man 2 (Way too hard just to pick a favorite, let alone only pick three.)

SNES: Super Mario RPG or Secret of Mana (I can't decide.)

N64: Zelda: Ocarina of Time

PSX: Final Fantasy VII or Legend of Mana (Again, I can't decide.)

PS2: Shadow of the Colossus

PC: Faust: The Seven Games of the Soul

[T]Vestax January 13 2006 6:53 PM EST

I'm a big fan of the SNES classics. Personally its a toss up between FFVI, The Legend of Zelda, and Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen.

I own all these games and I would have to say that Ogre Battle might beat them all for me. I only wish I had the patents it takes to get the good ending.

I also get a kick out of starting a 7th Saga game. Too bad the ending sucks so hard that its not worth playing that far.

I have other favorites from other systems, but that would just take forever. Trust me, I was on like page three when I decided to just cut back on the whole reply.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] January 13 2006 6:54 PM EST

Pong.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] January 13 2006 6:55 PM EST

Counter-Strike played from 99' to 04' (sadly I sucked till 1.6 came out and I got a machine that did more than 8 frames a second)

Kid Chamelon on the genesis was my favorite non-pc video game

AdminG Beee January 13 2006 6:55 PM EST

Wasn't me !

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] January 13 2006 8:12 PM EST

kid camelion was a good one, forgot about that one, but still doesnt beat ToeJam and Earl or Tyrants

Frod January 14 2006 1:39 AM EST

Civilization 2
Master of Orion I and II
Fallout
Deus Ex
Darklands

Color me old school.

Other than those, the Madden series for PS2 are probably the only recent game that really sticks with me.

Unica January 14 2006 1:44 AM EST

Earthbound. What other game let you order pizzas, fight with baseball bats, and use psychic powers?

LumpBot January 14 2006 7:21 AM EST

Monster Party was pretty nifty.
My favorite is Halo/Halo2
Close catches are Champions of Norrath (only with friends), and Soul Calibur III

Cyberdemon January 14 2006 7:28 AM EST

Resident Evil all of them

Adminedyit [Superheros] January 14 2006 10:28 AM EST

yeah forgot about those they all rocked nothing better than the shotgun :)

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] January 14 2006 6:53 PM EST

Glad to see Civ2 and Goldeneye are still remembered. Thanks SNK for a choice format.
NES: Mike Tyson(fight on midget mike)
SNES: Super Mario World
PS: Twisted Metal 2(couldn't remember what my real favorite was and not an FF fan*gasp*)
N64: Zelda: Ocarina/Mario 64(so many good games for that system)
PS2: GT3/GTA3 and SA(need to rent shadow...)
Xbox: Baldur's Gate: Dark A. II/Star Wars Battlefront(there's my nerd side...)
PC: HL2, Civ4, Battlefield 2, Starcraft, the next UT
Was a fan of the Armored Core series(only need 2 more) but now it's like ugh. Most mentioned are the ones played the most. Meaning they gave me the most enjoyment. Can't pick any one game over all others, doubt any smart player can. Shame on those that do. Not much on the sides for Medal of Honor or Call of Duty 2 eh, yeah creativity can be a big issue and on the dot history doesn't allow much wiggle room. Most would agreed great games even if they don't stand out. I'll play FF7 the remix if that will please the masses. Don't mind turn-based RPGs but gets so linear I lose interest, plus I'm not into anime.

Link if you would read the other posts you would see a few more zelda fans and that you were asked a question.

{CB1}Lukeyman January 14 2006 11:31 PM EST

Madden NFL 06 On X-Box(Live is best) for me!

molans[Grumpy] January 15 2006 12:56 AM EST

The best ever: Zelda - Ocarina of Time
[I played it on N64. I still do, from time to time, on a PC using emulator, and still know half of the songs by heart ;)]

Other games:
Dune 2
Sensible World Of Soccer [ better know as SWOS]
GTA 3 VC
BG 1

Guardian of the Glen January 15 2006 9:59 PM EST

Fable xbox.

rufen January 15 2006 10:17 PM EST

Downhill Domination
Star Wars Battlefront 1&2
Halo 2

Undertow January 15 2006 11:57 PM EST

I'll pick 3 for each system:

NES: Megaman 2, Crash and the boys street challenge, dragon warrior
SNES: FF6, rock and roll racing, Super Metroid, Tetris Attack (okay 4 games)
Gameboy: Tetris, Quaterback Club, mega man V
PS: FF Tactics, Castlevania: SOTN (there is a reason that game was worth $250 used once), Legend of the Dragoon
Gamecube: Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 4, Pikman (MY VAST ARMY OF MIDGETS!!! MWHAHAHA!)
PS2: Crazy Taxi, Blitz: The League, SWBF:2
PC (based almost soley on time played, and forgetting CB2): A.D.O.M., Gunbound, Alpha Centari

Never owned:
N64: Golden eye, Blast Corps, Smash Bros
Sega Genisis: The first sonic, altered beast, Golden Axe

Stephen January 16 2006 12:16 AM EST

I'll add System Shock 2 on the PC

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] January 16 2006 5:10 AM EST

Awww! Forgot games like Smash Bros., Tetris, Double Dragon, Mortal Kombat, RE4, and to even mention a Saga game Dreamcast or Genesis. Also rented a 3DO way back when along with Road Rash. Would also have to throw in a favorite arcade game, but don't know what that knock out game with the boxing gloves on cords is called. Many of you could blindside me with the number of hours spent on one game.
Can tell genres are no restrictions. So many to mention, so little bias. ;)

chappy [Soup Ream] January 17 2006 10:44 AM EST

Ok so I have way too many fav games ... I'll add a couple to my list as well .. heck why not?!? Maybe every day or so I'll just add one game for each system I enjoyed.. NES - Batman SNES - Mario Paint (lol) GENESIS - Eternal Champions DREAMCAST - D2 PSX - Thrill Kill (unreleased) PS2 - TRAPT N64 - Pokemon Snap (hey, you get to knock out pokemon with PESTER BALLS) X-BOX - Castlevania: Curse of Darkness 3d0 - The Incredible Machine I enjoy this thread .. keep the posts coming :)

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] January 17 2006 2:10 PM EST

Battle Isle - Amiga

QBOddBird January 17 2006 3:40 PM EST

Haven't seen this mentioned, but...

The Serious Sam Series.

The perfect way to relieve stress after a long, tiring day.

CmdrHawkeye January 18 2006 11:56 AM EST

Favorite Video game well I have many. Chrono trigger I like it is a classic, all the Zelda games, FF 7,8,9,10, my current fav. is dragon quest 8 (iam back playing the others they are good too. Heck any RPG i like. Star Ocean Till the end of time is good too.

[SIBT]Gardiner Amarth January 18 2006 4:08 PM EST

Battlefield Vietnam and Star Wars Battlefront for the PC...of course there was a period of a couple years I couldn't get off of Diablo II....but I'm over that now.

AdminShade January 18 2006 4:40 PM EST

At the moment my favorite video game is:

Maelstrom January 18 2006 4:51 PM EST

The gaming platforms I've used are NES, SNES, and Playstation; I only play PC now. I don't have too much time for gaming, especially since I started playing CB, which is the only game I play now, and is the only one I haven't gotten bored of after a few months.

For NES, the original Zelda was good.

For SNES, FF2 and FF3 (aka FF4 and FF6) were both amazing games. FF3 is still one of my favorites.

For Playstation, FF7 was without a doubt my favorite (though there were only a few games I actually played for that system...), and FF8 was pretty fun.

For PC, the original Quake was very good, as it had a much better atmosphere that any of it's sequels or competitors.

Blizzard's games were favorites as they came out: Warcraft II, Diablo, Starcraft, Diablo II, and their expansions. I haven't played the more recent ones.

The Civilization games have been favorites (CivII, Civ:CTP, CivIII), but I'm not going to let myself play Civ4 until I've finished my thesis.

Daggerfall and Morrowind were also favorites, until the repetitiveness bored me.

CmdrHawkeye January 20 2006 11:22 AM EST

I just remembered a few more LOL Starwars Knights of the old republic 1+2, All the Lufia games, the Lunar series is alright, all resident evil games, and Silent hill all of them, I highly recommend everyone trying silent hill series you won't regret it if you like survival horror games.

chappy [Soup Ream] January 20 2006 11:30 AM EST

I keep giving Silent Hill a chance and I think that the first is the best one. Silent Hill 2 was pretty good also, but after that they just don't seem up to par. AMIGA??? Wow .. I had a rockin game on the Amiga that I found later on the Sega Genesis. It was horrible on the SG, but the Amiga version played great!! If you're a fan of Zelda then you must check out:

CmdrHawkeye January 20 2006 11:50 AM EST

what platform is that FTA? Chappy?

chappy [Soup Ream] January 20 2006 11:58 AM EST

I didn't want the image to be that big and I apologize. It kinda takes away from what I was saying above the image lol ... I played this game on the Amiga way back in the day, however it was released on the Sega Genesis. It was not as good, though, due to controller issues. The Amiga version just played a lot smoother :)

Sorry to all about the size of that puppy :)

CmdrHawkeye January 20 2006 3:42 PM EST

Wait oops I just noticed you said what system it was on in the previous message, with the picture sry hah

Kilobot571 January 21 2006 2:28 PM EST

Kingdom Hearst, and hopefully Kingdom Hearts 2
Guild Wars
FF7 and FF8

CmdrHawkeye January 24 2006 8:37 AM EST

You know they are making a game based on FF7 staring Vincent, but I forget what it is called I shall do research on it.

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] January 24 2006 12:20 PM EST

Rainbow Islands, Zool, the Lotus driving game, Fuzzball, Bubble Bobble. So many great games on the amiga!
