Another UC/Item/Evasion question. (in General)

Hi all, one thing that's got me pondering.

"UC still gives an evasion-like bonus of 1/3 of the (pre-item bonus) UC level during melee, but during ranged it is now almost twice that."

Training 90K into UC gives you and effect of (32) and a level 30K Evasion for melee.

UC items that boost the UC skill, do so by increasing the effect. A +10 Gi would turn the 90K evasion above into xxx,xxx (42) witht he level being increased to what you would have to train UC to to get an effect of (42). This is why these items *don't* add to the Evaison given. By the time you're adding +10 from a Gi to take you to (70) you'd be getting too much of an increase to your level.

What I want to know is if UC malus items (which all give a -(5) to the effect - and correstpondingly reduce the UC level to reflect the now lowered effect total) reduce the Evasion level given by UC?

Dex modifiers are applied to the base level anyway, before any UC effect modifiers, so this can be ignored. :)

"UC gives an evasion-like bonus of 1/3 of the (pre-item bonus) UC level"

So it should also be a pre item malus...

:)

So an UC of 90,000 (32) would give 30K Evasion, but be reduced to a x12 +12 weapon if four malus items were worn?

I guess so.

Wouldn't it rock for UC tanks if we took away that "pre item bonus" portion?

That could be just the boost UC needs, but it would make Evasion worthless as is.
