Shade's internship & not being online as much as I used to be. (in Off-topic)

AdminShade February 5 2006 5:41 PM EST

First day of being intern at Fuji tomorrow!

starting at 09:15 am, don't know until how late it will be.

Also I will now have 5 months of being an intern there, making days from 8 am till 5 pm so that will make a nice cut in my CB time.

But in the evening hours I will be online working on my character, my website and helping people :)

Kind regards

Shade

Good luck! Hope you enjoy your time there! And if you put as much effort in there as you do here I'm sure you'll impress. ;)

Good luck Shade! What sort of work does the internship involve?

Oh, and I can't wait to see how long it takes before you break down and CB from work... maybe a week? :p

Anyway first day went good I think.

My counceler has had a baby so he's home from work for 2 weeks, but I have met nice people and have done some literature studies.

Stephen February 6 2006 4:44 PM EST

Literature studies? You mean they gave you some manuals to read?

Maelstrom February 6 2006 5:17 PM EST

Yeah, you know, how to use the photocopier and coffee maker, how the filing cabinets are organized, and how to answer the phone properly...

;)

AdminShade February 6 2006 5:56 PM EST

They gave me a book of 400+ pages on xray spectrometry to study and comprehend.

Sukotto [lookingglas] February 6 2006 9:28 PM EST

400 pages?  You might want to read this first... SPEED

QBPixel Sage February 6 2006 9:30 PM EST

Or you can just do things James Bond style ;)

AdminShade February 7 2006 12:17 AM EST

I can already speed read :)

AdminShade February 7 2006 12:19 AM EST

from your link:

10. Set a time goal. Have a 300 page book to read? Decide how fast you'll read it. If you are not a speedy reader, maybe you'll only set the US average reading speed as your goal: one page a minute (250 words/min.). Or if you are already an above average reader, set 100 pages an hour and plunge in. If you picked 100 pages an hour, that's 50 in a half hour, 17 per 10 minutes or 1.7 pages per minute. Keep on track… pretend like you are in an auto race… push yourself, concentrate, get yourself out there on the "racer's edge" -- the line just short of out-of-control, yet still in command. Do it; it will be exciting!

hmmm easy :p

Blarg February 7 2006 12:19 AM EST

trigun February 7 2006 1:06 AM EST

{CB1ate}aupStar February 7 2006 2:22 AM EST

Can I get a discount..? o_O

bartjan February 7 2006 2:45 AM EST

Sukotto, I tried to read that article, but it takes too much time ;)

Stephen February 7 2006 2:55 AM EST

Very good Bart!

Personally I never read anything that starts "I was a Bible college student..."

AdminShade February 7 2006 11:13 AM EST

correction, 800 pages :)

day 2 went smooth, more 'boring' reading but also more learning :)

AdminShade February 9 2006 11:30 AM EST

day 4:

bit more reading, (somewhat finished now, for now)
got a tour through the production facility,
looked at an analysis.
